feemandvm
The American Veterinary Medical Foundation is having a contest to find America's favorite veterinarian. You can nominate your favorite veterinarian via their facebook page at the link below: https://www.facebook.com/AVMFdn/app_435422166534159 I nominated Dr. Guillermo Couto from Ohio State for all of his amazing Greyhound work. He's helped Greyhounds all across the country and even around the world and for as smart as he is... he is even more personable (as those who have met him will confirm). Anyway, just wanted to share for anyone that was interested! tbhounds
I confirm! Placed my nomination--could not think of a more deserving veternarian than Dr Couto.

Hubcitypam
When we went to the vet today I mentioned the effort to nominate Dr. C, who was his mentor in vet school. I was all set to ask if he maybe had some pictures of Dr.C I could use and it sort of became clear my vet wanted me to nominate him. I took pictures of him with Poodle. Factoid - my vet used to date Dr. Couto's daughter - she was the last girl he dated before he met his wife. She will graduate vet school this year. Teensy
I don't personally know Dr. Cuoto, although I certainly know of him. I nominated Dr. Kroll, the neuro specialist who has been taking care of Irene since her disc rupture and paralysis. He was outstanding in a really terrifying time. 4My2Greys
I like the pictures from this thread. Especially the one of him holding the greyhound. http://forum.greytalk.com/index.php/topic/296170-dr-couto-speaks-at-the-west-coast-greyhound-gathering/?do=findComment&comment=5460634 Of course, permission to use them would have to be granted by Steve. PatricksMom
Another vote for him--I've never met him but I was enormously relieved to have Patrick treated by one of his students who had a lovely bedside manner in addition to being very knowledgable about greyhound medical issues. Also thanks to all the GT vets who generously share their expertise with us, including Bill. Quote Beth, Petey (8 September 2018- ), and Faith (22 March 2019). Godspeed Patrick (28 April 1999 - 5 August 2012), Murphy (23 June 2004 - 27 July 2013), Leo (1 May 2009 - 27 January 2020), and Henry (10 August 2010 - 7 August 2020), you were loved more than you can know.
