DesiRayMom
It's been a l-o-n-g week. I've been at work 10-11 hours a day, between working & doing all Desi's treatments & feedings, etc. He's still just toe-touching, but on a good day, he will take a few steps with some weight bearing on that leg. I couldn't take it anymore......my house is filthy, the laundry is way behind, I needed to get him home. I went to my brother's this morning early. That man is a wonder. He's over 70 and does woodworking to keep himself busy. In about 60 minutes, he whipped up a ramp extension for me.....another 2-1/2 feet.....with fold up legs and carpet for traction. This made the slope up to the back of the suv much gentler and more negotiable for a 3-1/4 legged hound. All the way back to the city ......... tried it out ....... a little tentative, but no problems. So, he's home, and crashed in his favorite bolster bed. Now I can get on with cleaning & laundry. Still hoping for more improvement in that leg, but it may take a while. I know the clots may still get him, or that icky spleen, but in the meantime, we're living large. We want to thank everyone again for all the good thoughts & concern. And if anyone has a good cleaning person they'd like to share for a couple of days.......... Guest k9soul
I'm praying and wishing the best for Desi. Sounds incredibly frightening and exhausting. But it sure is nice to see him crashed out in his bed with his buddy nearby.
