Guest Jacks_Human Posted February 12, 2013 Share Posted February 12, 2013 Martha, my childhood cat, passed away on Sunday after my weekly Skype chat with my parents. She would always come in to say hello over video chat, so I guess she wanted to say hi one last time. She was 18 1/2, so a good long cat life. For the last few years she lived with my parents, who loved and spoiled her right to the end. I got her for my birthday. My parents took me to the animal shelter to pick out a kitten, and it was love at first sight. We were studying the American Revolution in school, and I thought Martha Washington was awesome, so I named the kitten Martha. She was a really sweet and occasionally mischievous kitty. Although she liked the usual games of getting her humans to buy just the right cat chow, she also had a weird obsession with ginger-flavoured things-- ginger ale, ginger snaps, ginger-infused Thai soups.
