Re: Katie- I would just sit down with her and tell her flat out what Padfoot's situation and prognosis is and clearly explain the reasons for everything and the situation. Unless she's picked it up somehow on her own I would bet she is alerady confused by the different situation that exist now in the home. I know she will understand. They are smart and you two don't even need words to communicate. If you're uncomfortable with it though perhaps an animal communicator can assist. I think if you just sit down and talk to her about it though you will be amazed at her depth of understanding. In fact you can even ask her how she would like to handle it when Padfoot crosses-what her wishes are regarding it. God bless you in this terrible storm. You are in my prayers.
