Please No, Not Paulie Too

Recommended Posts

We recently discovered a hard marble-sized lump on one of Paul's ribs. I' m so scared that it's osteo. I know that rib is an unusual presentation for osteo, but I just lost Paul's litter mate Ringo to osteo in September. He had it growing from the vertebrae in his neck. He goes to the vet on Tuesday night and I'm going to ask the vet to x-ray and perhaps schedule a biopsy. If it is osteo, I'm praying removal of his rib is an option. He's only six years old and I couldn't bear to lose him, especially so soon after Ringo.

Please send good vibes his way. I'll keep you posted

Sending love and prayers your way! I KNOW it is hard, but, please try not to panic right away. My Goldie, 11, has a lump on the end of her rib cage. It was diagnosed as a fatty tumor :) That would be what Paulie has, too!

Good Luck!

I know it's scary, and you definitely want to check it out, but my Sam has knobby lumps on his rib cage--has had for years. When he lies on his side and exhales, all his ribs show--and the bumps, too.

See the first couple of really visible ribs? And the bumps about midway down his side?

The top photo is a recent one (August). The bottom photo (where Sam is 6 years old) is from 2006--same bumps showing where his fur ends and his bare chest begins.

Good thoughts for your Paulie from our Paulie's family. We had a scare with our Paulie when he was only 5 years old and it turned out to be a simple fix. Hoping the same for your boy.
