5blackgreys
Missy B came to us as a foster a little over 2 years ago. She spent the first 2 weeks in her crate, leaving only when I could coax her out to go outside. Then one day I was sitting in the family room and a face appeared at the door, it was Missy B, out of her crate on her own! From her crate she progressed to the sofa in the living room and finally several months later she came out to the family room with us and finally joined the family. She wasn't supposed to stay, but after having her for 6 months as a foster we realized that somehow, even though we'd be going from 4 to 5, she made our pack complete. She learned to play with stuffie toys and would always bring one to the door as a "toll" to go outside. She never completely lost her reticence around people but she bloomed in many other ways. She was always the first one out, the first one in, and stood right by my side as I fixed meals. She was the only one who figured out that if you were actually in the kitchen at meal time there were often extra little goodies to be had. This past Sat. she got up and stumbled in the kitchen. We noticed a head tilt and an uneven walk. We went right off to the vet's and by the time we got there she was fine. Sunday morning more of the same only more pronounced, but this too passed as the day went on. Yesterday morning when we got up she was completely normal, running in the yard, back in the kitchen while I was fixing breakfast. I went to do some errands and when I came home I found her on her sofa in the living room unable to move her back legs and arching her head and neck. Missy B went to the Bridge being held by her Mommies and surrounded by her sisters at home where she felt most loved. She was our "sturdy girl", the one who never chewed, messed in the house or caused any kind of mischief. She was just full of love and life and will be sorely missed. I hope you've found your brother Bear, please watch over us till we find you again at the Bridge. Godspeed Missy B, we love you.
