racindog Posted May 3, 2010 Share Posted May 3, 2010 I am so sorry for such a tragic accident. Please KNOW there was NOTHING you could have done. Her "mission" was completed and it was just time for her to cross over and continue her journey. If she wouldn't have been coursing it would have just been another way but nothing anybody did could have prevented it. I hope you can find some comfort in the fact that she died doing what she loved-what she was born to do. I am sure she would want to thank you for allowing her that privelege. My deepest sympathy. Jewel was such a beautiful member of our family and always so happy and fun. Soon I will post a tribute to her with pictures and a short memorium of her life and personality. I keep thinking what if she had not run that second time she might still be here with me now but I know it was just her fate and I will never ever forget her and I am so grateful that my last image of her was leaving to go run Sat. morning wagging her tail and looking at my husband with adoring eyes as the went down the sidewalk to the van.
