I wish you peace and wonderful memories of Dempsey. I can still feel the pain of losing my boy and I can also look at his pictures on my desktop and around the house and I smile and gaze at him telling him how wonderful and handsome he is and he is always in my thoughts. Dempsey will be with you forever if you keep remembering him, at some point you will smile when you think of him, then just go with it... daydream about the days you had him. But you know we shouldn't cry because that boy is standing whole again looking over the bridge down at you and he doesn't want you to be sad. He knows you made the right decision. I only hope I have the strength you did/do to make the decision if/when I would ever have to. Dealing with the big C myself with my boy, I know how robbed you feel.
