  1. Yes there is. I kept Loca attached to me with a leash around my waist whenever I was home. It gave her to learn the ropes and gave Linus time to get used to her. I praised Loca like crazy and kept her muzzled and separated when I wasn’t home. It took about 1.5 months but it worked.
  2. I'm so sorry to read this. Please keep in mind that our main goal is to keep our family painfree and happy.
  3. I lost all three of my greyhounds to osteo. I let the last one go as soon as she was diagnosed as it had already spread to her lungs. In my opinion, and I know many will disagree with me, I wouldn't wait for the meds to stop working nor would I wait for the quality of life to go down. It's a very painful disease and why put them through that at all? Our job is to keep them happy and pain free.
  4. I'm so sorry. I think we've all second guess ourselves when faced with such a decision. It's really difficult and sometimes it seems like the "what ifs" will never end. Once the fog clears, you will stop questioning your decision and realized that you acted in Raffle's best interest. Our job is to ensure that they never live in pain, discomfort, suffer or lead anything but a great life. You did a good job
  5. I use disposable belly bands called Vet's Best. The edges are very stretchy like an accordion almost and the adhesive they use is really sturdy. Weenie size isn't a factor I order them on Amazon and my 55 pound guys use size medium.
  6. I’m so sorry for your loss of sweet, sweet Calvin. He will be missed by all of us who knew him.

  8. TBDs have strange symptoms. Phoenix developed s limp several months after I adopted him. Turned out he had babesia, a common TBD. It went away after treatment.
  9. Try not to worry about it, ok? I know it's hard; I lost all three of my greyhounds to osteo. Remember that t's completely out of your control. It's good that she's being re-checked in three weeks.
  10. Are you sure you want to change that? Perhaps you can take him to the dog park on off hours, when there aren't other dogs there.
  11. I live with one of those! Relax and take it slow. Let her set the pace and come to you, rather than the other way around. Don't manhandle her and don't put demands on her. She will come around, but be patient and gentle
  12. I had a guy who used to turn purple every summer.
  13. When I adopted my first Greyhound I was convinced that he hated me. He seemed so reserved compared to other dogs I’d lived with. It took me a while to realize that everything was so new to him would take a while for him to feel comfortable. The more I relaxed, the more he relaxed. Everything will be great.
