greytpups Posted May 25, 2013 Share Posted May 25, 2013 Some of you may not be aware that Treasure and Iker came to stay with us while their human mom, Robin, travelled. Treasure was the sweetest grey, she gave so much and never asked for anything in return. Ok, maybe that's not entirely true; she loved food and was known to follow me everywhere, especially into the kitchen When the leashes came out she was the loudest chatterer and got so excited. She didn't like going outside in the backyard in the winter when it was icy, so I'd put a leash on her and she'd be raring to go. Of course, as soon as we were out, I'd take it off and she'd go do her business. She was funny and quirky, my best walking partner ever. Once she started to slow down, dh would take the other pups on a long walk while Treasure and I went on shorter ones. Dh would tease us and call us the "old" ladies, but I didn't mind since I was in such good company I loved coming home to 4 pups. Ben and Treasure would be at the door first, then Iker followed by Brooke. You could count on this order of pups, even if you were only gone a few minutes. And although everyone else ran and played or laid down, Treasure would still be right at my side while I rubbed her ear against my thigh. And although she won't be at my side when I come home any more, she will always be in my heart. When Robin called to let me know she had to say goodbye to Treasure (still tear up at the memory) I was heartbroken and knew a part of my heart went with her that day. I will always be grateful for the call though. Robin came to pick her up the previous Friday and although I said goodbye, it never crossed my mind that I would not see Treasure again. Since then, I've always had this song in my head, so I put a few pics together and created this video. She was a sweet girl who always stuck around with the humans looking for ear rubs at fun runs.
