He had two hugh problems instead of one (only one showed up on the CT) He also had fractured something in his left hip. The surgeon did not know whether or not to go ahead and put bolts and pins in his leg. But, he decided the best thing to do was to fix everything and close him up. He is hoping extensive therapy will build back his muscles. Guess that means we will drive from Savannah to Hilton Head and Charleston everyday. I will see him for the first time tomorrow and they will also start his therapy tomorrow. My big question is how in the world will I keep him from lunging on his back legs whenever he sees something move? I understand the leash walking, but he is 80#s and when he lunges I know I will not be able to stop him fast enough. I have ordered a heavy duty sling from Handicapped Pets, but they just shipped it today so I don't know when I will get it. Sorry about the whining. Thanks everyone. Walliered Posted January 8, 2013 Author Share Posted January 8, 2013 Have not seem him yet, but the surgeon (Dr. Jason King) said he had a good night and was actually standing up and wagging his tail this morning. His legs are swelling, so they are cutting back on his drip. They said I can see him later. He is starting the therapy today (Dr. Artis Stewart). I will write more later. Thanks to everyone!
