I see the issue, but not the cause at the moment. I'll see what I can find.

 

Seems to work fine if you enlarge it, and then change pages. The original page causes a scroll bar, but as soon as you move from that original page, it looks normal again. Unless you are using a HUGE font. Mine is currently set pretty big (150%) for testing and it looks fine.

 

Looks like 150% is the scroll limit, 175 and up cause a scroll bar.

 

Not sure what browser you are using, I use chrome and zoom enlarges everything, images included which looks to be the problem. If I remember right Firefox has an option to enlarge just text, and leave images alone. You may want to give that a try.

 

I guess I'll just have to deal. I'm pretty blind and after wearning my glasses all day at work I really don't want to wear them in the evening.

yup, can get a bit larger text with Firefox and not cause a scroll bar.

Jeff what do I have to do so spell check works? Running the lastest version of Firefox and Win7.

Ok, had to open Firefox and check it.

This is really messed up, but trust me lol

 

1. Type something in the text box, anything

2. Click the little switch icon in the text box (upper left botton) to switch to the text only mode if you are not already there. (all buttons except the switch should be grayed out)

3. right click inside the box to open the browser menu

4. Ensure the Check Spelling box is checked (it probably already is)

5. Select Languages > English

 

Done

 

Can click the Switch again to go back to the full editor if you like. The setting will then be saved, and you should be good to go.

I may have missed this, but I'm not finding a place in my profile to change/edit my avatar. Where would that be?

 

I know there was an issue with retrieving previously used avatars, but I'm referring to deleting the one currently being used and adding a new one.

in the upper right corner, you will see a gray button. As an example, in this TOPIC, you will see the button says Follow this Topic

If you go back to the forum index, you will see the button changes to Follow this Forum

 

You can change the notification options by clicking the drop down menu on your username in the top right.

Just added it. Members (50+ Posts) and Supporters will now see a link to "Change Photo" in their profile pages where they can submit an avatar request.

Have I missed it in this thread:

In wanting to try your spell check technique and not wanting to scroll up and down, I right clicked to copy the directions. When I scrolled down to paste in the box and test, Paste was not an option. I had also tried copy/pasting from a personal email to post funeral arrangements for Father Al. Couldn't Paste then either.

If this has been covered before, my apologies. On a thread title, in this case "started by Jeff" and a date, the print is a very very light grey and very hard to read. The actual title itself is quite legible. Is this "just the way it's going to be" or is there something I can do?

I rely on VIew New Content and when I select it all I get is Greytalk Forum Upgrade, Avatar, Greytalk Business Cards. I have played around with the choices from 1 week to 24 hours and still don't get anything but the ones above. Am I doing something wrong or is this a glitch waiting to be fixed?

Okay, I give up! Couple of questions - again, probably operator error, and if so, I need help.

 

I'm trying to change my avatar. I keep getting the response that there is nothing attached, but I am attaching a pic when I send it. I click on browse, choose the pic from my Pictures file, complete the box, and send it on. What am I doing wrong, or what else do I need to do?

 

Also, I've been trying to edit my siggie to show my pups Greyhound Data page. When I click on the "link" prompt and paste in the data page, it doesn't give me a prompt to put in a "name" for the data page link.... in other words, I paste in: http://www.greyhound-data.com/d?d=C+Ya+Mirage&sex=m&color=BD&birthyear=200x&birthland=US, and want it to show up in the siggie as "(C Ya Mirage)" as it did on the previous site. Am I still able to do that, and how?

First type the text you want, in your case "C Ya Mirage"

 

Highlight the text with your mouse and then click the link button. Paste in your link and click ok.

 

It should result in this: C Ya Mirage

 

 

Your other option is to just type in the raw forum code.

I haven't changed or added to the number of lines that I'm using from the siggie that was previously posted and I'm trying to change - just highlighted, and linked to the data page as suggested above.

that means you can only have 5 lines, and that does include the image line, so 4 text, 1 image.

As far as I can tell, I have 3 lines of text, and 1 image on my siggie. Unless there's more to it than what I'm looking at, I'm confused.

 

Also, I don't have a clue about resizing a pic - you're specs are Greek to me, but thanks for the info. I obviously got lucky with my present avatar.....I'll try one more, but if luck's not with me I suppose this is where I just say, "Screw it!" - I'll have to do with what I have.

 

edited to add, "Thanks", Jeff for the new avatar of my bridge girl, Piaget. It's a small thing, but it means a lot to me.
