HopeForHounds
If my day wasn't stressful enough, Jake tried to race Peanut to a squirel. He lost, got hip checked and skidded on his butt easily 4 feet. He is a mess. Lots of ugly lookin abrassions on his back hocks, and his poor but is hamburger, he even has a scrape under his tail. I cleaned him up and I'm heading out to get a mega load of polysporin. I can't find my EMT spray, ugh! I've given him some metacam and melatonin. I need to go out now to get some more supplies. He's got a shower in his very near future. then I'll photo everything so I have a baseline. Pray he doesn't swell. We really need him to stay healthy. Heading out to the drug store my DS is a manager of. I can get a discount on all we need. Oh, and he, the DS Andrew, fell down the stairs this morning and his wrist is swollen and hurts really bad. Can I scream now? 4My2Greys
Yes, you deserve to scream and really loud. You've had one thing after another go wrong, it's time you caught a break. I was wondering if Vetericyn Wound & Infection Treatment would help him if it is available for purchase in Canada. If you could keep the area covered Manuka honey has wonderful healing properties also. Hugs for you and lots of white light for Jake. Guest Energy11
Poor baby! Seems like this type of thing always happens on a weekend or holiday! EMT gel, antibacterial ointment, any of that, will help. No way to bandage it, of course. "Road Rash" .. what this is, is extremely painful, so if you have Deramaxx or Rimadyl, that would be great. He also might need antibiotics. If it starts to swell, I'd see the vet for antibiotics. Sending hugs your way!
