OSU has started a depository of blood, DNA, urine etc. for all cancer dogs (not just greyhounds). Also, Dr. Couto is trying to get a grant to study DNA in greyhounds to identify genetic markers for different diseases. Email is couto.1@osu.edu My Joe has recently been diagnosed with osteosarcoma. His racing name is Bello Little Joe.

phall
My girl, whom we lost in January, was diagnosed with either thymoma or lymphoma. Tests revealed that it was definitely one of those two. (Because of the location of the metastisized mass in her chest, the only way we could get a biopsy to confirm which of those it was would have been with an invasive procedure going down her throat into her chest area. We chose not to put her through that as her prognosis was 2-6 months in either case. Her racing name was KD Rich Chick. Thanks. Pat

LadyGrey
Back in 2004 I lost a 10 year old Greyhound girl to Mast Cell Tumor Grade Level 2. It ended up very vascular in her throat region with a huge fluid bump the size of a small orange externally. This cancer had actually started many months prior internally with no apparent symptoms. The vet was able to give her 4 extra months with dignity through prednizone treatments. Her track name was Sierra Drifter. I adopted her in Melbourne Florida in the mid to late 90's. She was white with big brindle spots. I will post her image in my gallery.
