jimsherriek
Our permanent foster Maggie, had to leave us today. She in just 5 short months, would have been 15. She was returned back to GPA-Houston by her 2nd owner. She was a frightened, malnourished, weak, and acting out in fear pup. She was placed with us just 2 short months ago. We did not know how long she would be with us, or if she could even recover. In the short time she was here, she managed to gain a little weight, learn to live with and get along with other hounds, and to play. She discovered a flying disc in the bottom of the toy box, and loved that toy to no end. But her weight again started slipping, and she quit eating. Her liver and kidneys were failing at a much faster rate. Yesterday, she had a violent swing in her mind, and attacked several times. Today, after conferring with the vet, he felt that she had a serious problem that would effect her permently and get worse. (Sorry I don't remember all the fancy words.) It was decided that she was ready to leave us. And she peacefully passed across the bridge in my arms. She may have been labeled a foster, but in our hearts, she was our Maggie. I wish I could remember her making me laugh so many times, as each day she learned a new thing. Right now I am a puddle of tears from the hole she left in my heart. But, I just want you all to remember, that she did live and was loved, for the couple months she was here!!! Love, Mom, Dad, and Kendra Run free sweet Maggie. You will be missed very much, but I know you are now pain free and running after that disc you loved. And you can poke as many holes in it as you want, because it is self healing!!! It was only a couple short months, but it felt like a lot longer by the way you made me laugh. Thank you for your time here!!!
