Bevd
Yesterday was some day. We had to take Ella (Westie) to see an orthopedic surgeon to find out why she is limping. It's a three hour round trip so we went, had the consultation, left her there and came home for 10am. When we got back, we found that Darcy had...been unwell from both ends and was just......covered. After a clean-up procedure we took her in to our own vet and she had 2 injections (AB's and anti sickness) and we brought her home. She settled down OK. Then we went to collect Ella from the specialists (who had taken xrays....and a bone biopsy from her hip but I swear, I am not even allowing myself to think anything other than bone infection and we just have to sit and wait for the results). Got back about 7.30pm. By 9.30pm Darcy looked really poorly again (with no sickness but with the Big D) so we took her in at 10pm and she was put on a drip. I've just phoned to see how she is (it's 10.30am here) and she's not been sick or had big D and she's stopped panting. I will speak to the vet again later to find out if we can bring her home this afternoon/evening. Meanwhile, overnight, Poppy felt unwell and although she hasn't been sick or had big D, she's clearly feeling sorry for herself. As I type she is covered with a big blanket on the settee and she is going in to see the vet this afternoon. Any and all good thoughts appreciated for my gang. Fiona3
Oh my goodness, I hope everyone is well again soon. We had our three greys all sick at the same time last year with some sort of virus. It was very much like Darcy's symptoms. Hopefully whatever is happening will be quick and your pups will be back to normal in a day or two. Bevd
The dogs are definately used to party foods so it's not that. Plus the party was on Friday - plus they really didn't eat that much compared to what they've had at other times. Ned and Poppy both had temps of 103 (which is a degree higher than Darcys was yesterday). Both have had AB injections and Ned has come home with tablets to start tomorrow. Poppy has stayed at the vets for fluids because she refuses to drink (she's always like this when she's ill). Darcy can come home at 6.30pm. Eeeeeee.
