patricia Posted May 19, 2008 Share Posted May 19, 2008 brady has not eaten in 24 hours. he is back on iv fluids. thank you all for your support, prayers and thoughts. we all really appreciate it. please know that we would never put our precious boy through this if we didnt think that he was still fighting. he is still alert, active and responsive. he is still being brady. the clinic and the doctors treating brady are top-notch. he is getting the very best care he could possibly get. of this we are sure. we will likely not be bringing him home. i am waiting for a call from the internist before we decide what to do next. Guest BradyzMommy Posted May 19, 2008 Share Posted May 19, 2008 brady kidney may not be functioning correctly and they are treating him for it. they believe that once they that under control he will begin eating on his own. the internist will be in at 9am PST and will be able to tell me more. brady is still alert, still responsive and still has personality according to the vet. he isnt giving up yet and neither are we. we will be leaving work early to walk him and try to get him to eat. i am leaning toward picking up some tripe in the hopes that he will eat it. for the past few days he has been eating the roasted chicken we brought for him, but i think we need to step it up. if anyone has any ideas on what we can offer him, please PM me. Guest MZH Posted May 19, 2008 Share Posted May 19, 2008 (edited) Odd appetite enticers that have worked for me: pizza crusts scrambled eggs, preferably with Parmesan cheese freeze-fried liver treats (in moderation!) tuna boiled ham or other deli meat But if his kidneys are compromised, the best is probably the scrambled eggs.
