  1. I'm so very sorry. She left much much too soon. Godspeed Winnie.
  2. I'm so very sorry. She was a brave and very special girl. I wish she could have stayed longer. Godspeed Symbra.
  3. Most of my older dogs have several. The poodles have way more, and some of them are humongous. Sometimes they can be popped, sometimes they explode on their own, but most of the time they're just there. I don't worry about them unless the dog does.
  4. What a handsome boy! And settling in so well. Congratulations!
  5. OMG. What a tragic loss--terrifying and horrible for both of you. I am so desperately sorry. Godspeed Hazel.
  6. I'm so very sorry. Sadi was one of my GT favourites. I can only imagine how much you must miss her. Godspeed Sadi.
  7. Her littermate sister Pink does not have such prominent veins. She does have lots more hair. Betsy's veins are pretty prominent, but not all that big. Graham's were big and prominent. The winner by far was broodie Dixie, with huge prominent veins, and at least 40 puppies to her credit.
  8. I didn't. It wouldn't have changed the treatment plan (control the seizures) and we'd know soon enough. Since she's still around two years later, it clearly wasn't a tumour.
  9. Thank you for returning to tell us Sorella's story. She truly was TPGIT.
  10. I'm so very sorry. Gracie may have been a challenge at first, but she did a wonderful job of educating you about the joys of greyhounds. She also starred in some wonderful photos. Godspeed Gracie.
  11. I'm so sorry. I've lost two this way, so I understand your decision. And your heartbreak. Godspeed Charlotte.
  12. I have two. I use this one on the dogs who don't like the Dremel. It's smaller and easier to manipulate and the tone is higher: http://www.dremel.com/en-us/Tools/Pages/ToolDetail.aspx?pid=1100 The other is more like this style: http://www.dremel.com/en-us/Tools/Pages/ToolDetail.aspx?pid=8100 But mine is older and the speed adjustment looks different. I don't recall the maximum power, but the overall shape is similar. It's more powerful and has a deeper tone. I use 60 grit bands. I find that it helps to change them fairly frequently--I can spend less time and/or use a slower speed with a fresh band.
  13. There is a list (post #4) and a link (post #6) in this topic: http://forum.greytalk.com/index.php/topic/296494-laryngeal-paralysis-in-an-almost-13-year-old/ I am so very sorry about Sara.
  14. I start right away at home, within a few weeks (depending on the school schedule) at class. Sometimes, if the grey is worried, it takes a while to make progress at school, but we just work at our own pace and catch up by the end of the course.
  15. I'm so very sorry. She was a special girl in so many ways. I'm sorry she had to leave. Her story--wacky red broodie born December '99 and adopted at 10 1/2+ with the help of a striking photo who becomes the family Princess--is so similar to Cal's that I almost feel I knew her. Godspeed Flirty.
  16. I know the feeling. I hope the medication helps Nadir and he feels better for a good while yet.
  17. FWIW, I just had a dental done on a dog with bleeding issues. (Her platelets are fine, but she does not clot well.) She did not have extractions. She did not bleed much and did not require amicar. I think that if I were in your position, I would want to know that I could get amicar if needed. I certainly wouldn't want to have to place a special order if my dog were in trouble.
  18. Minnie's on Levetiracetam, which is the same thing. It made her pretty groggy and wobbly at first, but she has adjusted. Don't recall how long that took.
  19. I'm so very sorry. She was too young and far too special to leave. Godspeed Jazzy.
  20. Ugh. What a mess. I hope today goes well and Cash can come home tonight. And heal quickly.
