  1. Interesting. I don't think my vet has ever mentioned discontinuing Tylocine before a fecal culture. We just did one, in fact. Reams of clostridium. Counts so high that the lab had trouble doing the toxin assay (negative). Dog is now on Metronidazole and Tylocine. Still not doing well, but at least now eating thanks to pred and Stanozolol. I understand about the scoping. Horrifically expensive and the prep is awful.
  2. Maybe try some Tylocine? I haven't found Tylocine does much for food issues. Can help recovery from other things though. Like antibiotics used for UTIs. I know you know this, but it's different when you're living through it: a gut can take a long long time to settle after getting out of whack.
  3. FWIW, Graham was a squat pee-er even before his back end started to weaken. Some boys just do. Sometimes Metacam helps backs, sometimes not. Didn't do a thing for Graham. I hope the new meds make Aston feel better.
  4. I'm sorry Paul needed to lose his canines; that's major. I'm sure he'll feel better soon. The laser therapy may help his back a lot. Hope both boys are feeling well ASAP.
  5. I'm sorry about Sierra. I have not been down to one dog, but I have lost several over the past few years. The grief of the survivors has varied a lot. In general, though, I'd say it has been easier for the dogs when I just continue as normally as possible.
  6. I'm so incredibly sorry. She should have stayed around to torture you forever. She was that special. And she was right where she belonged. Godspeed Hannah.

  15. Very cool! I especially love how the second time she decides the drawer is not closed enough, and slams it--even without being asked. Spriet

  17. Pred can cause muscle wasting, so that might be part of what you're seeing. I hope that Lady's blood tests provide encouragement, and that everything else can be resolved as well.
