  1. First, DEEP CLEANSING BREATHS!! It's not even been a week. Many of us have cats and greyhounds, so it's not impossible. My Johnny gets along fine with my cats and my mom's cats, but wants to devour her cockatiel. Muzzle on at all times to begin. Give the cat escape routes, such as under the couch or behind a secured baby gate, and don't scold the cat if he smacks the dog--that is the cat's warning "get out of my face!". Whenever the dog shows any sign of interest, a sharp "NO CAT" from you. Work on the "look at me command" with plenty of high value treats to distract.
  2. Prozac can help with kitty spraying, but I think my dog's mission in life is to mark every bush, tree, rock, pampas grass, he encounters!
  3. I had one done on Cat #1, he had cholangeohepatitis (sp?) as a young cat and his liver values were elevated years later. It wasn't really bad, he recovered quickly. I can get some more details when I get home.
  4. Does Wendy "chatter"? Johnny does it, especially when a card ride is imminent. He has started doing it when snuggling on my lap, so funny!
  5. Altered male AND female cats can still spray and urine mark, I've seen it myself (I know, anecdote is not data!). The neutering cuts down on the smell and most of the roaming and fighting, but some cats are just persistent.
  6. Are there any other behaviors? Whining, vomiting, soiling? Reluctance to get in? Not laying or sitting?
  7. I use the Seresto collar and give Trifexis, Johnny has not experienced any bad side effects from it.
  8. Ladies (and gentlemen?), I know you hoped for a better outcome, but you all went above and beyond for your houndies. and to all.
  9. OMG, to you and yours. How many more dogs will this awful disease take from us??
  10. Johnny gets Trifexis and wears a Seresto collar for the ticks at my parents house. The collar works surprisingly well.
  11. Zero Odor is a great product for any kind of pet stinkies.
  12. Johnny sometimes doesn't eat his breakfast, but will eat dinner. A lot of greyhounds have stomach upsets if they go too long before eating, and a bedtime "cookie" can help mitigate the upset.
  13. Aww, Taylor, you get sillier every time!
  14. I wonder if someone in the UK can send you some TCP for his toe. Stinks to high heaven, though.
  15. Yep, Filarabits! For ticks, I recommend the Seresto collar.
  16. Hah, Johnny did that too! He will pee anywhere else another dog has been. He also peed on my mom & dad's fridge the first time I took him the their house, I guess he had to say "Johnny wuz here!" (they don't have indoor dogs).
  17. Is there anywhere near that has a hydrotherapy (I hope that's the right word!) facility for pets? Just enough water to support his body, but not like a deep pool, to take some of the strain off?
