  5. Can you find some really large rocks to fill in that dug out area???
  6. All three of our Greys are pretty good with children....Nixon is a certified 'Child Friendly' Therapy Dog. Our Grandkids are 6 and 4 and they visit once every couple of weeks. They have been taught to leave the dogs alone if they are laying down and they are respectful of this rule. Ruby snarled at the older child once when she was trying to take a toy from her. No teeth...just a snarl. That was right after we got Ruby and it scared the crap out of the kids ...and me. We all learned a valuable lesson. On the other hand, Ruby loves to be brushed and and is really quite happy to have the kids lead her around the house on a leash. We never leave kids and dogs together unsupervised. Never. Not even Nixon. It only takes a split second for an 'accident' to happen. And, if the dogs have had enough of the kids, they'll just remove themselves and go lie down in another room. As far as the OP...it will depend on the individual kid and the individual dog.
  7. So sorry for the loss of your Bod. Remember the good times....
  8. I am so, so sorry your Macho had to leave you. What wonderful memories you made with him. You will never forget him. Ever. And, in time, those memories will make you smile...
  9. Our three are muzzled when left alone. It only takes a split second for an 'accident' to happen. They also have the thin leather Dave Engraves tag collars. We had a break-away collar once and we found it 'broke' too frequently. If you need to grab your dog quickly and hold the collar you will probably end up with the collar in your hand and the dog long gone. Ask me how I know... A microchip will not help identify your dog if he is loose on the street, unless whoever catches him takes him somewhere the chip can be 'read'. A dog who has his name/phone number on his collar will get home faster.
  10. I'd check with her vet first, but I have given a small amount of metamucil with no side effects.
  11. Nixon is super good with little ones....even at the dog park.

  18. Not all dogs like to play with toys. Nixon has never, ever shown any interest in any sort of toys, balls, squeakies, frisbies. Nothing. Ruby likes 'certain' squeakies, but doesn't go crazy. Nigel loves ALL squeakies...he just came to us this way. Some dogs play. Some just don't. We have had several dogs of varying breeds over the years who never liked to play.
