  1. Yes Ducky... you gave Rita the best life ever. For such a small girl, I am sure she has left a huge hole in your heart.
  2. Oh dear, Sherrie Chris. Jeepers. Enuff is enuff! Hmmmm Charlie. Congratson the new houndmobile. What kind is it? We need I don’t know anything about ramps or stairs for loading. My guys are still able to jump up. Sid -10 - is a bit more cautious but can still get in. I had a few - only a few - salty werds for the Manager this morning and I believe that he has now come to his senses. Sigh. Middle aged men. Sigh. Although Pap - who is long past middle aged - has finally cleaned 2 of the 4 bedroom windows and took down some blinds and ran them thru the shower. I have loaded my car with stuff for goodwill. I’m heading off to deliver a couple of hoss blankets I repaired for a friend, pick up some grain for the home ponies and then ride Patty quietly on my own before the teenager kidlets arrive after school.
  3. Frosty and foggy 0C Continued to Ducky et al. Lots of brotherly visits in the club this week. I have 2 younger bros. Middle one and I are pretty close and his wife is awesome. They live 2+ hours away and we get together for lunch 2/3 times a year. Baby bro I have not seen since Moms funeral. His wife is knot friendly to us and very controlling. He lives in the same town as his brother and even works at the same firm and they barely communicate. At my aunties funeral last fall they chose to sit all by their ownselves and when it came time for the actual burial they just went home, even though the grave was right beside our parents/grandparents and they probably had not been there in 2+ years. I’m off to the Inn to have a chat with the manager. He’s done a couple of weird things this week ….
  4. Rita and Ducky are still in my thoughts. Hoping for a decent weekend Nancy...I'm so glad you've gone to visit your brother after such a long time apart. I hope he feels well enough to enjoy you company and reminiscing
  5. Brrrrrrrr Minus 2C and ice on the water trough Oh! There’s Patsy! Glad your weather has taken an upswing Awwww Lupin. Those little rubber booties are hard to get on and off. Especially in the dark. I’m sure your Mummy has learned her lesson We have lots of rabbits here. None have made their way into the dog yard yet this year. Joshi is obsessed with the birds trying to nest in the huge cedar trees along the fence line. Thankfully they’re very high up and she she can’t reach them. I’m off to the Inn. Where I hope the water lines are knot frozen The gals are making good headway on the cabins. I’m going to work on the desk and lobby. Then Sid has his elementary reading kidlets this afternoon.
  6. Floofy Poopie House of Duck is getting back to normal Angus house is still under construction And that is an awesome meme We're still in winter mode here, too, Wiki. Going down below freezing here overnight but at least the sun finally came out today. Nobody does any gardening up here until nearly the end of May. The skin kid came and cut the front yard and the dog yard yesterday. And dragged my kayak out of the beeg shed We're getting stuff organized and cleaned out for the beeg three bedrooms painting job that is supposed to start on Monday. Well. I am getting organized and cleaning. Pap..Knot so much.
  7. Rain.rain. Rain. Zorro Gorgeous GIG collars Good new for Doug Safe travels, Nancy Im off to get in an early ride on Patty.
  8. Sid and I have just returned from school to see FancyToos’ ‘good’ news. Whew!
  9. Knot raining yet Sid will be off to visit his hi skool kids, but we’ll Back’n’Forth for Fancy
  10. Lupin Lovely spring photos, Andi. Your deck looks greyt. Lukit Ducky in her headband Mistress needs a little battery chainsaw like mine! The Sheet Shack is mostly organized and the girls got 2 of the beeg log cabins pritty much done today. I probably won't go back until Thursday. Pap got his blood checked this morning but did knot get the results. We'll be Back'n'Forth for Fancy in the morning
  11. Cccchilly 0C At least the sun is shining. Glad everyone had a safe drive home from GIG. Fancy..please let us know when FRuitcake is taking you to the Vet. We are worried… I’m off to the SheetShack. The girls will get their van organized and start cleaning all the cabins. I’ll give them a hand, going around pulling the ‘cover-ups’ off all the furniture. Then I’ll work over in the Inn sorting comforters and blankets - they’re all laid out on the dining room tables - and maybe clean the front desk.
  12. Love that peenk Llama Brrrrr..... it is ccchilly here, too. No hail or snow or rain today. Just cloudy and cold winds and I sat bundled up in 2 coats plus Widgets wool cooler all day watching the jumping lessons. Widget and his buddy Buzz got to do their rides indoors. And I rode Patty - indoors - during the lunch break
  13. Dull, dreary and cold. What’s the point of a costume if nobody ‘gets it’ Oh! Elizabeth is home already. That was a short trip. I’m headed back to watch all the barn peeps ride with the clinician again today. Yesterday was a bit blustery and cold with some rain and hail and snow but they all toughed it out. Today looks to be about the same weather. Sigh. Thankfully Widget and his little buddy Buzz rode indoors.
  14. It is knot raining. More GIG pictures That Little Rocky looks like our Joshi. Only skinnier Sure hope that runaway dog has been found I’m off to ride Patty and then watch some jumping lessons. An instructor from Toronto is coming down to teach at the boarding barn all day today & tomorrow. PlusAlso a BBQ lunch!
  15. Faboo GIG pictures - everyone looks greyt! Thanks for sharing! And yes, indeed, little Lacifer is gorjus Hopefully that runaway hound was captured safely.. Oh Fancy We'll be Back'n'Forthing negst week...what day are you going to see the Vet? And I'll also send Chris Sorry Dennis is having some bad days. Charlie & Zorro got a from their Vet. And NooCarol finally got her grass mowed Thanks for the birthday wishes for my crew. Calli got a beeg carrot and all the dogs had an extra cookie. We are seeing little bits of sun come through the clouds this evening. Sure hope it lasts for more than a day.
  16. Kids love reading to the dog! Even if he’s Is there a reason you can’t ask the kids if they want to read the story?
  17. Expecting more rain today Today we have 3 birthdays… Calli is 24 Kibo is 7 Joshi is 3 I hope to have a nice ride on Patty this morning
  18. It is still drizzle and just plain miserable here. I sure hope GIG has good weather. An yes... we need I am positively shocked at that British Post Office scandal I'm now into the 'real life' stories. Horrendous. I sure hope the criminals are exposed. I really enjoyed the 'light breakfast' - One egg (scrambled), two bacon, shredded home fries and 2 pancakes - at Smitties this morning, while my kayak pal and I got caught up. She is newly retired and we won't have to limit our kayaking to just Wednesdays this summer
  19. AnnIE Thursdays is also Sid's day at the local Elementary school The kindergarten kidlets are our favourite but he's quite patient with the older kids who struggle with their reading. I have been very pleasantly surprised to see that our school board has reintroduced Phonics and the kids are learning to actually sound out the words.
  20. Miserable rainy rains Hope the weather is good for the GIG Goers. Sorry Tiller has to stay home I will be meeting my kayak friend for pancakes Then going to the paint store again. The bedrooms will be done in two weeks. And Sid has reading at school this aft.
  21. Lupin UhOh! Miss Lucy has cheated on Nate Oh! Wonder Dust! Yes, NooCarol... it used to be the go-to for horsey injuries. Glad Mistress finally found someone to figure out the noises. Whew. I popped down to the Inn this aft to see what we needed in cleaning supplies and catch up with our most excellent maintenance guy, who is also trying hard to work only a day or two a week. We open in a month. I will still do some work in the SheetShack and schedule the girls, but will likely end up doing the Desk once or twice a week. They have had not enough decent people apply and even some no-shows for interviews. Sigh. Pap is finally home. They kicked hisownself out around lunch time even though his INR is still very low. He's now on the injectible Fragmin until Monday when he'll go get it checked again. Safe travels to all the GIG goers Back to Mr Bates....
  22. Sunshine It’ll be back to rainy rains by tonight. Safe travels, Elizabeth. When do you return? Oh dear…. Ivy & Cherry will be on reduced rations Pap is waiting on his latest INR results. Things go very s-l-o-w-l-y in there. I’ll take his SanteFe to the boarding barn so I can just go directly from there to pick him up. the results are good. Patty is having a massage this morning, but I hope to sneak a short ride in first. Coach Kate can hold her for the masseuse if I have to go get Pap.
  23. Ohhhh..... love snapdragons. Haven't seen any in years. I should look for some this year. Whew, Doug Jeepers. Too bad those landlady kids are so mean. But it sounds like Kevin has found a decent place for the summer. And who is this retiring Atlas and what is Boston Dynamics I'm bushed after fixing the back rail fence. Took much longer than I thought. Of course Pap says he'll likely get out tomorrow I'm settling in to start watching Mister Bates & The Post Office. I recognize his 'wife' - she was on something else on one of those British shows. She was a rape victim... Hmmmm. Sorry this is sideways. And now I'm knot too sure if the flower is a little rose. No tag. But one of my co-volunteers said it was.
