  1. So very sorry for the loss of your Marx. Remember the good times....
  2. My guys get raw beef knuckle bones. I get them at the local butcher, keep them in the freezer and feed them frozen.
  3. So very sorry for the loss of your pretty Butter girlie. Remember the good times...... And sincere condolences to you on the loss of your Dads...
  4. My hounds eat a raw mixture from here It is a ground mixture of beef (incl'd bones.organs), chicken and fish and eggs. They also get beef knuckle bones, raw chicken backs and feet as treats.

  6. So very sorry for the loss of your Bijou. Remember the good times...
  7. So very sorry for the loss of your Santannah. Remember the good times...
  8. You're doing a fine job!!! Like everyone else has said...Time is your friend. For the first several days when Nixon arrived, he would not eat unless he was in the crate ....with the door shut. Took him two weeks to get up enough courage to try the stairs on his own. Now...he's a Child-Friendly Therapy Dog.. So...what is your fellows' ?? And...we need some pictures!
  9. Hope he recovers quickly and you find out exactly what it was.
  10. 'Traumeel' is an excellent natural anti-inflamatory....recommended by our Vet. http://traumeel.us/ It comes in a gel or tablets. I always keep it on hand, and have had excellent results on both dogs and horses.
  11. Sounds as if she's doing fairly well considering you've only had her for a month. How long is she left alone when you're at work? My guys can 'hold it' all day, but of course they've been living in a home situation for a long time, but I personally don't like to leave them for more than 6 hours. They are not crated. Do you practice 'alone training' at all?? Do a search and I'm sure you'll find lots of info. Oh...and now we need to see some pictures!!!!
  12. Glad you found out what it is and hope he heals up quickly...with no upset tummy issues to complicate things.
  13. SIncere condolences to all the families who lost beloved family members.
  14. I am so very sorry for the loss of your girl. Remember the good times.....
  15. Oh no...poor Dustbin Dustin I'd go ahead and put a small piece of the soaked animalintex on it, and wrap it with some vet wrap. It could take a a couple of days or so for whatever is in there to come out. Poor boy. When Nixon had a ripped nail, I also found that toddler-sized socks worked really well at keeping the foot covered/clean.
  16. Sounds as if he is just too high-energy for your lifestyle. A puppy needs lots of vigorous exercise, and you are unable to give this to him. I agree with others who have suggested you trade him for an older, quieter hound.
  17. We've lived with three large dogs for several years....a 'mix' of GSD/two Dobes/Pointer and now just the Greyhounds. Three dogs is a pack and they can react to things much differently than just two dogs living together. They can 'feed' off each other and things can escalate very, very quickly.
