  1. Lupin Lovely spring photos, Andi. Your deck looks greyt. Lukit Ducky in her headband Mistress needs a little battery chainsaw like mine! The Sheet Shack is mostly organized and the girls got 2 of the beeg log cabins pritty much done today. I probably won't go back until Thursday. Pap got his blood checked this morning but did knot get the results. We'll be Back'n'Forth for Fancy in the morning
  2. Cccchilly 0C At least the sun is shining. Glad everyone had a safe drive home from GIG. Fancy..please let us know when FRuitcake is taking you to the Vet. We are worried… I’m off to the SheetShack. The girls will get their van organized and start cleaning all the cabins. I’ll give them a hand, going around pulling the ‘cover-ups’ off all the furniture. Then I’ll work over in the Inn sorting comforters and blankets - they’re all laid out on the dining room tables - and maybe clean the front desk.
  3. Love that peenk Llama Brrrrr..... it is ccchilly here, too. No hail or snow or rain today. Just cloudy and cold winds and I sat bundled up in 2 coats plus Widgets wool cooler all day watching the jumping lessons. Widget and his buddy Buzz got to do their rides indoors. And I rode Patty - indoors - during the lunch break
  4. Dull, dreary and cold. What’s the point of a costume if nobody ‘gets it’ Oh! Elizabeth is home already. That was a short trip. I’m headed back to watch all the barn peeps ride with the clinician again today. Yesterday was a bit blustery and cold with some rain and hail and snow but they all toughed it out. Today looks to be about the same weather. Sigh. Thankfully Widget and his little buddy Buzz rode indoors.
  5. It is knot raining. More GIG pictures That Little Rocky looks like our Joshi. Only skinnier Sure hope that runaway dog has been found I’m off to ride Patty and then watch some jumping lessons. An instructor from Toronto is coming down to teach at the boarding barn all day today & tomorrow. PlusAlso a BBQ lunch!
  6. Faboo GIG pictures - everyone looks greyt! Thanks for sharing! And yes, indeed, little Lacifer is gorjus Hopefully that runaway hound was captured safely.. Oh Fancy We'll be Back'n'Forthing negst week...what day are you going to see the Vet? And I'll also send Chris Sorry Dennis is having some bad days. Charlie & Zorro got a from their Vet. And NooCarol finally got her grass mowed Thanks for the birthday wishes for my crew. Calli got a beeg carrot and all the dogs had an extra cookie. We are seeing little bits of sun come through the clouds this evening. Sure hope it lasts for more than a day.
  7. Kids love reading to the dog! Even if he’s Is there a reason you can’t ask the kids if they want to read the story?
  8. Expecting more rain today Today we have 3 birthdays… Calli is 24 Kibo is 7 Joshi is 3 I hope to have a nice ride on Patty this morning
  9. It is still drizzle and just plain miserable here. I sure hope GIG has good weather. An yes... we need I am positively shocked at that British Post Office scandal I'm now into the 'real life' stories. Horrendous. I sure hope the criminals are exposed. I really enjoyed the 'light breakfast' - One egg (scrambled), two bacon, shredded home fries and 2 pancakes - at Smitties this morning, while my kayak pal and I got caught up. She is newly retired and we won't have to limit our kayaking to just Wednesdays this summer
  10. AnnIE Thursdays is also Sid's day at the local Elementary school The kindergarten kidlets are our favourite but he's quite patient with the older kids who struggle with their reading. I have been very pleasantly surprised to see that our school board has reintroduced Phonics and the kids are learning to actually sound out the words.
  11. Miserable rainy rains Hope the weather is good for the GIG Goers. Sorry Tiller has to stay home I will be meeting my kayak friend for pancakes Then going to the paint store again. The bedrooms will be done in two weeks. And Sid has reading at school this aft.
  12. Lupin UhOh! Miss Lucy has cheated on Nate Oh! Wonder Dust! Yes, NooCarol... it used to be the go-to for horsey injuries. Glad Mistress finally found someone to figure out the noises. Whew. I popped down to the Inn this aft to see what we needed in cleaning supplies and catch up with our most excellent maintenance guy, who is also trying hard to work only a day or two a week. We open in a month. I will still do some work in the SheetShack and schedule the girls, but will likely end up doing the Desk once or twice a week. They have had not enough decent people apply and even some no-shows for interviews. Sigh. Pap is finally home. They kicked hisownself out around lunch time even though his INR is still very low. He's now on the injectible Fragmin until Monday when he'll go get it checked again. Safe travels to all the GIG goers Back to Mr Bates....
  13. Sunshine It’ll be back to rainy rains by tonight. Safe travels, Elizabeth. When do you return? Oh dear…. Ivy & Cherry will be on reduced rations Pap is waiting on his latest INR results. Things go very s-l-o-w-l-y in there. I’ll take his SanteFe to the boarding barn so I can just go directly from there to pick him up. the results are good. Patty is having a massage this morning, but I hope to sneak a short ride in first. Coach Kate can hold her for the masseuse if I have to go get Pap.
  14. Ohhhh..... love snapdragons. Haven't seen any in years. I should look for some this year. Whew, Doug Jeepers. Too bad those landlady kids are so mean. But it sounds like Kevin has found a decent place for the summer. And who is this retiring Atlas and what is Boston Dynamics I'm bushed after fixing the back rail fence. Took much longer than I thought. Of course Pap says he'll likely get out tomorrow I'm settling in to start watching Mister Bates & The Post Office. I recognize his 'wife' - she was on something else on one of those British shows. She was a rape victim... Hmmmm. Sorry this is sideways. And now I'm knot too sure if the flower is a little rose. No tag. But one of my co-volunteers said it was.
  15. Oh dear…poor Doug. Beautiful plants, Nate. Hope your kitten is OK. We’re at least a month - probably 6 weeks - before we can do any real gardening here. I could clean up the perennial gardens but ‘they’ say we should wait until first of May as lotsa good bugs and beetles winter over in there and we should knot disturb them yet. I’ve never seen a banana plant. It is quite creepy looking! PapsINR is still too low at 1.4 Sigh. From too thin to too thick. Sigh. More meds will be swallowed this aft. This is his 6th day there Guess what!?! I got a certificate for 25 years volunteering at the LTC That’s a lotta dogs I’ve been through and they even read the list of all their names out. Plus I also got a nice little rose plant. And a $$ card. Oh yes… we get some mighty beeg Black Flies up here!!
  16. Mild and mostly sunny Long gone I’d love to get the kayak out but can’t go far from home just in case Pap gets sprung. His INR was very, very low yesterday and he has knot had the blood work done yet today, so it’s unlikely he’ll be released. I do have some padlock fencing that needs my attention and I should get at that before those miserable Black Flies arrive in anther week or so. I’ll be off to the LTC Home, but no dogs will go today It’s the Volunteer Appreciation Coffee’n’Snacks day and the silly Health Department frowns on dogs being near food. Party Poopers.
  17. Finally - Wall repair for Angus house will commence next week Gilbert & Sullivan Awwww Patsy. I feel your pain. My TV Box was badly outdated had to get replaced last year. I had so many good shows on it. I miss Granchetser, too I only watch those shows on BritBox so I'm always a season behind. I will look for the Mr. Bates story. Miss Jennie. Poor wee piggies. The rescue that Joshi came from in Qatar - '2nd Chance' - had to close. Way too many dogs and zero support and funding. So very sad, in a country that has so much $$$ and treat their animals so badly. Speaking of Piggies --- were is our Mister Piggy Still on vacation Feel better, Jim. Yes Kerry! You can do it! I got some of those beeg canvas potting bags for my tomatoes. They werk really well. And that's all I ever plant. We had lovely warm weather this afternoon. I think it was up to 14C. Tomorrow will be the same then the rainy rains set in again. Pap was given some more warfarin today so I guess if his INR remains stable he can come home tomorrow PattyKake gave me a most pleasant ride this morning. She is getting fitter and able to use her abs to carry herownself for longer periods.
  18. We might see the sun today I only watch Midwife on Netflix. I believe that I’m caught up there. What season is on ‘live’? Netflix just added ‘Dexter’. I’ve watched it all twice, but may have to do it again Great walkies, Lupin! Pap has been started back on a small dose of warfarin last night Wonder how long they’ll keep him once he’s on it He can take his ownself to the blood taking place every week day. He had a lady roommate one other time he was in there. I guess they can’t be picky when beds are scarce. I’ll be off to this morning. Bathroom could use a good scrub. Might ride TheWidge. Chiro this aft. Painters will be here in 2 weeks to do the bedrooms, so there’s stuff to be packed away. Sigh. One day this week I have to go down to the Inn and do inventory on cleaning supplies. Cleaning starts next week. I’ll be going back a very few hours a week to do scheduling. Probably train up the new Desk people.
  19. It has finally stopped raining. For now. We're back to riding in the indoor arena again. Everything outdoors in flooded. Oh! Ivy & Cherry are going to GIG That sounds much better than going back to the situpon house. Hope Nancy & Doug are feeling better tonight. Sid does not sit. Kibo will if it involves food. Joshi sits all the time. She also 'sits pretty' aka Flat on her bum with her front foot raised up. I scored a good parking spot in the underground lot and got Pap's undies and shaving gear delivered just fine. I think he will be staying there a cuppla more days. He has a 93 year old lady for a roommate! This morning they hooked up an IV to try a different med They just can't seem to get his INR low enough.
  20. Rainy rains Supposed to be heavy rain later this morning. I’m off to take Pap some clean undies before it starts and whist there may be parking nearby
  21. How do that many barges break free all at the same time ?!? Awwww Flashy We're knot gunna kick you out. There's Charlie et Al Is that a 'Simon Says' kinda game? Pap is still knot home. They can't get his bluds exactly rite. I'll drop him off some clean undies in the morning. Small Whirled.....Widget's kidlet's Mom works in the ER and it seems she was one of Pap's nurses on Thursday. But she didn't know who he was. Guess 'Widget' didn't come up in conversation
  22. Rainy rains Welcome home Kathy & Jim. Your girls will be so happy to see you Flashy We got RECarol lino card at ChrispMix. Awwww…hope the little bat is OK…. Hope Samba has settled in. I’m sure Charlie is a most excellent host. Pap will probably stay in hospital until tomorrow. It usually takes a while to get his INR back to where it should be and there’s no place for him to go get it checked until Monday if he comes home. I’m off to ride Patty, then go pick up our taxes. Plus also stop at the Lieberry.
  23. Mmmmm…. Delicious snacks from Jen, Summer& Dio Molly McNoPeePee. I never would have thought it might be diet-related Makes sense. My forsythia sits up against my little car garage, facing west, but the beeg drive shed is across the yard and blocks the wind, so quite protected. Although I’ve seen lots of others in full bloom. Widget & Patty got their first set of shots plus their spring deworming. They get the rest of the shots in 2 weeks. And Widge will get his sort-of-annual fetlock injection the week after that. Then the home ponies need theirs shots, too, but not as many, as they are a closed, non-travelling herd. KaChing! I have an appointment in 2 weeks at the Doc office for the Handicap sticker. Our Doc is still off on mat leave and the other Docs won’t issue the form without seeing me. Sheesh. Pap has knot heard anything about his CAT scan. They just do blood work twice a day. I am not going today…it’s pouring down rain and there’s never any parking close by. The DIL has been up a couple of times.
