  1. Oh No! I am stunned and so sad. Run free, Sweetie. Jan. I am so sorry.
  2. Aww, she was making sure all would be well for her sisters as she went to check on her dad. He needed her more than the girls did now. I am so sorry. Dottie B, make sure you send a sign, your "placeholder" could use one! I wonder if there are any hydrangea day lillies out there? Hugs.
  3. I have a Mazda3 hatchback. With the back seat down, I can fit 3 easily and have done 4 since they were pack mates. We also recently purchased a Subaru Forester as our "family" vehicle. I needed a better car for bad weather. Plus, it has more head room which is good for my 85 pound male. He is more comfortable, height-wise, with this car. Before the Forester, we had a Dodge Durango and he simply would not jump into it. He will jump into the Forester since it is lower to the ground, but not nearly as low as a mini-van. I had kids and never did the mini-van thing!
  4. I am so sorry. My outcome was the same. He knew he was loved. Wishing you peace.
  5. Goose had a more likely than not nerve sheath tumor and we couldn't get his pain under control. It was horrible to lose him early and it not be cancer. Hopefully, it is something else and he is more comfortable. Hugs.
  6. I am so very sorry. Loved the Rocket stories. He will be missed and mourned by many. Wishing you peace.
  7. How tragic. I am so very sorry. Run free, Sarge.
  8. I have had both. My whippet required more exercise than most of my greys ever have. Since the whippet is available now, maybe you could foster him/her to see if it works?
  9. "The flame that burns twice as bright, burns half as long." I am sorry that you lost your sweet and funny girl. Wishing you peace.
  10. I am so very sorry. It is so difficult to take their pain away by putting it on yourself. I have lost two to osteo and both were diagnosed by a traumatic break - no signs prior. I wouldn't wish that experience on my worst enemy. I wish you and Bakin peace and comfort as she takes this last turn in her journey. We will look for her star tonight.
  11. Oh, Pam, I am so sorry and worried for you. I hope your law enforcement is able to do something.
  12. According to our vet, the distemper vaccine is now every 3 years. If we were going to stagger vaccines, she recommends them to be 2 weeks apart. However, for her, the second vaccine could just be a scheduled pop in the office and a tech would administer the injection. Typically, I have always spaced out vaccines, but due to some other issues, I actually gave mine their distemper and Lyme vaccines at the same time. However, they received their vaccines at the same time in their previous homes (or at the track prior to be adopted out) and did not have a reaction, so I felt more comfortable with it.
  13. It is very common. But, I would post this in health and medical to reach a broader audience for this type of question.
  14. Oh, I am so sorry to see that Allie has left us. I loved hearing about her and seeing her photos. What a bright-eyed, feisty old lady!
  15. I learned the hard way - I now always muzzle when we leave. It is a very expensive mistake - financially and emotionally - and if my experience helps someone else, then yay! This is my version of paying forward, lol. Mine lived together for almost a year before something went awry. Thankfully, I happened to be there or I truly believe I would have lost one. Congrats on your new addition!
  16. I am so sorry, but what a great life the two of you had! Packed a lot into a short time. Love the seniors!
  17. I am so very sorry. We were all hoping for better results.
  18. My heart is breaking with and for you. Jan, I am so very sorry that Bosco needed Bruno more and now they are together once again, smiling down on you and the campers. Hugs Cindy
  19. I wrap Paris' meds in a piece of satin ball. Works like a charm here! Maggie, on the other paw, refused anything that may have *ever* contained a pill and we finally had to do the old open and shove method. With 20 some pills a day, I felt really really bad about that. But, she would get her most favorite treat ever after pilling (and only after pilling), so she would happily trot to her favorite pill bed twice a day when it was time. Keep on popping those pills, Bruno!
  20. Rachael, I am so very sorry to hear this. Joe was such a special soul. Hugs, Cindy
  21. What a cutie! We do, of course, need to see pictures of the tutu! I imagine the stink eye will be just as fabulous as the costume, lol. Welcome from PA!
  22. Over nuked hot dog bits were the go-to treat for my boys when training. Costco also sells these steak bite treats that the girls only get after pills, so they think those are the ultimate. They break into little smidges of treat, which is the way I like to treat them. Tiny bits but lots. Mine are about the number of treats, not the size! You could also try letting the cheese dry out - mine love cheese rinds, so that may work, too. Good luck!
  23. I am so very sorry. Your handsome sweetie knew he was home and felt secure enough to know that he could leave. Hugs to you. Cindy
