  5. I cannot express how very sorry I am that Morty had to leave. My heart is broken for you Erika and I hope you can find peace and comfort knowing that Morty knew he was loved. Hugs
  6. Oh, Jan, I am just seeing this. I am so very sorry. She actually sounds so much like my Zoe and they even looked very similar. Zoe never met a dog she didn't tell off - at least twice. I hope she finds her over the bridge and those two can rule the roost together. Hugs to you, my friend.
  7. I am in shock. I checked in to see how he was doing at home. I am so very sorry. Many hugs to you and your family.
  8. That was absolutely beautiful, to match the beautiful soul that was Freddie. I am so very, very sorry.
  9. My Zoe was a champion marker. She wud lift a leg or back up to a pole and spray like a cat. She was higher than the boys, too! Lordy, I miss that girl!
  10. I have never found a pain medication to help with corn pain. Does he wear boots? Therapaws helped Brady, along with regular dremeling down of the corn. I would actually use the use of the dremel head and dremel a divot into the corn, too. I am not sure about what can be taken, but Robaxin with Gabapentin was helpful for us. It is a muscle relaxer and Maverick tenses up when he has a shoulder flare-up, so the Robaxin help relax the muscle, which helps reduce discomfort. Both Robaxin and Gabapentin are generics and can be purchased at any human pharmacy. Shop around. I get mine at Costco. Scritches to your sweet boy.
  11. Carol, Indy had it. His hearing and vision also deteriorated, which magnified his confusion. He would also sundown, so I had timers set up that it never got dark in the house and I kept a low light on for him at night. He also took Cholodin, an amino acid, I believe, that did help. He didn't do well if left alone at night, in the dark, so I made sure he was with me all night and could touch me. He was unable to sleep through the night and would get very restless, so we would go outside once or twice every night. I was fortunate in that he was small enough that I could carry him. I made sure he got regular walks and exercise because that helped, too. I am sorry that you and Magic are going through this. It is not fun.
  12. Thinking of you, Jan. The pain of their leaving doesn't lessen, you just get more used to it being there.
  13. How tragic, I am so very sorry. As others said, she left this world knowing love and a soft touch. Wishing you peace.

    Bearbear

I am so very sorry. I, too, have lost a dog unexpectedly and it is so very difficult. Wishing you peace and comfort.
  15. Hi, Michelle! We miss you guys already - we finally made it back to playgroup and it just wasn't the same. I didn't get body slammed coming through the gate! Cindy
  16. I cannot give any good advice and my experience is not helpful to your situation, so I will just be thinking of you and Joe and hope that all goes well. Maybe Brees can help distract you further by getting another cat or something.
  17. Hoping he had a good night and is well on his road to recovery.
  18. Susan, there are no words to express how sorry I am that it was George's time. It is so very hard. I like to think that he has taken Brady under his paw and they are both now running free with no saggy hind ends! Wishing you peace and comfort. Cindy
  19. As I lay awake last night, I wrote his tribute over and over again. Nothing I wrote can give Brady the kudos he deserves. He came into my life 5 days short of two years ago. I saw his photo on the senior thread and just knew that he would heal Zoe and my heart after our sudden loss of Dante and Indy. He did that and was able to help me through losing Zoe a mere 3 months later. My silly, somber, dignified Brady. I tried to give you everything during your short stay with me. We went to GIG, Dewey, Grapehounds, and took hikes and entered parades and helped the neighborhood children learn not to be afraid of large dogs. You humored me and accepted whatever was thrown at you with grace and a style all your own. I let you leave with your dignity intact; too bad mine didn't remain that way. Brady Boy, you were and are so very, very loved and I miss you more than I thought possible. You are now whole and pain-free, as you should be.

    Tasha

I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful Tasha. Wishing you peace and comfort.
  21. Oh, Pam, I am so sorry it's Poodle's time to leave. You will be in my thoughts. Rest well, Poodle. Hugs.
  22. Valerie, I am sorry to read the update. Wishing you more quality time with Diamond.
  23. I have found that dremeling the corn to keep it flush with the pad helps. I also keep the boot on his foot all day, only removing it at night. That keep the foot soft and the corn would rise up and could be hulled much easier. While I haven't tried it for corns, a cold laser treatment might provide some relief while you try other alternatives. With that much pain, though, I would also see if he has tweaked his neck or back since his gait will change due to the corns affecting his walk. I understand you are frustrated with the responses, but I hope some of the suggestions can help. I am on my third "corn dog" and I know how hard it is.
