  1. No advice, other than taking her in to your regular vet.
  2. Ben had this and it was a torn tendon that healed quickly with cold laser therapy.
  3. I have to agree...I'm not convinced scaring a dog is a good training method. Could you make an effort to just saying something short and quick like "uh" or something that won't startle him (you mentioned you have a deep voice which is why I'm suggesting something simple) and then praise and/or treat when he responds with the desired behaviour?
  4. I'm so sorry for you and your family's loss of Blossom. What a wonderful life she had thanks to you and your family.
  5. I am so sorry for your loss. (Try clicking on the icon above the "B" for bold to paste the img url from photobucket._
  6. I'm so sorry for your loss...such a beautiful tribute to Dory.
  7. I was lucky enough to see Shawn when I went to MH and last year he looked really good. I always enjoyed chatting with him in the "pool". Rest well dear Shawn, you will be missed. What a coincidence that he passed away during MH
  8. He's very handsome and sounds like he's settling in quite quickly. What a wonderful gesture on your part.

Chris, I am so very sorry for your loss of D-man, couch stealer extraordinaire.
  12. I'm so sorry for your loss of your precious Pepper.
  13. Why is she crated? Is she crated in your bedroom? If not, she might be lonely. If so, perhaps try 15 minute intervals. If it were my girl Brooke, if she gets up, she has to go. If it's Ben or Brooke, I can tell them to lay down for awhile. That's why I suggested shorter intervals in case it's legit. If she goes out and goes right away, then you'll know she needs to go as opposed to sniffing around for a bit outside and can wait a bit. Brooke runs to the door so I know she needs out and sometimes it's 4 or 5 am. I've learned when in doubt, let her out.
  14. When I was trying to rehydrate Ben, I gave him lactose-free milk. My vet was aghast because he thought Ben would get diarrhea and defeat the purpose. He was fine with lactose-free. I have given them unpasteurized goat's milk I got as a sample at GIG in the past and they loved it but I don't have a supplier.
  15. We have a dog bed in our walk in closet...every once in awhile Ben or Brooke prefer to sleep in there. I have no idea why, but as long as they're in there, they might as well be comfortable.
  16. I'm so sorry for your loss of Nell. How heartbreaking this must be. May she live forever in your heart.
  17. Thanks Lynn, I've emailed whole foods in Oakville to see if they carry it. It's also available at the st Lawrence market.
