Huston Update - Update In #1

Recommended Posts

Got some rest between water intake and outside. Not sure about him but I passed out :) I got 2 whole hours this last time.

He won't eat for me but he did for them.... I am going to call them when they open and see if he ate by himself or they put it in his mouth.

Poor baby. I hope you can get him eating and on the road to recovery soon. Hope you can get some rest so you can take care of him. :grouphug

It will probably be another 24 hours before he feels like eating. If canine recovery is anything like humans, the first 48 to 72 hours after surgery are the worst and then the body revives and active healing begins. Will he eat "anything"? Would he drink Ensure?

:bighug hang in there! the first couple of days are the worst, as I am sure you know. As long as he is drinking, I wouldn't worry too much about him not eating at first. Well, actually, if it were me and my dog, I would be worrying, but you know what I mean. :goodluck I hope he will eat a little for you tonight.

I've been staying away from crumbling things because of the throat issue from the tube. He finally drank some broth and ate a very little baby food meat.

Hopefully he will gear up over the next few days.

:goodluck Hope his appetite gets better every day.

Swelling going down is good. Eating rehydrated beef is good.

(Why the dehydrated beef, by the way?)

Hope he's feeling much better after his acupuncture and eating more.

He did eat after I got home (he also got a B12 shot): dog cookies (not mine), kibble, mackeral, chicken and ground beef with canned. He is punky this morning but he's not been a morning person.

I might feel a little punky after that combination, too. :)
