She was the most beautiful greyhound we had ever seen, with her striking sable markings. We only adopted her 10 months ago, an unexpected return after living with a family for 7 years. Josie was perfect. She loved her greyhound siblings, playing with stuffies, night time treats, car rides, meeting new people, and her secret santa gift exchanges. Josie had some neck pain in November. The X-rays showed "something suspecious" in her cervical spine (C3). Pain meds were keeping her comfortable for awhile. A few days ago she started limping on her left rear leg. Fearing the worst we got more X-rays. This time we found out that she had arthritis in a previously dislocated toe, no signs of any bone cancer. Sadly, we also found out that Josie had a large mass surrounding her liver and spleen which was causing other visceral organs to be displaced. Josie went to the Bridge lying on her favorite pillow, with her Mommy & Daddy gently holding her and telling her how very much she is loved, and that Vera, Angel, Sally, Cohen, and Bashful are waiting for her.
