We had to put Miss Meadow to sleep last Saturday, October 8th. Turns out after 2 xrays, the vet discovered she had osteo in her right shoulder. It was pretty far gone, and had made its way to her lungs. Our vet came out to the house and put her to sleep amidst her favorite stuffies, on her bed. Chris and I slept on a blowup mattress on the floor next to her bed Friday night, so that I could have my arms around her all night. She had developed pancreatitis from the Deramaxx the vet had given her 2 weeks prior (the initial visit for the strange lump on her shoulder). We got her thru the pancreatitis with flying colors, only to get a 2nd opinion on the xray....which confirmed our worst fears. The first xray was inconclusive, it wasn't until a different view was taken that we could clearly see the osteo. Its just not fair, damn OS. She was the sweetest little brood mama on the face of the earth. Cancer is so ugly!!! I'm so ANGRY!!! I miss you so much, Meadow. Mommy and Daddy's hearts broke when we had to send you Home to God, but know that we are counting the days until we can see you again, when you can wipe your little peanut butter mouth on us again, and do your "bug" on the bed. Run with the angels, my Love. Look for Niles, Frasier and Littles - you can all run together and chase the chipmunks up there. I love you Mama Meadow ..... forever.
