Guest I65Stang Posted February 26, 2011 Share Posted February 26, 2011 I guess my username got deleted at some point over the past year or two so I had to sign up again (guess I didnt log in enough but I did lurk). Anyhow, we lost our big boy Basher to osteo on the 15th. He retired to us in March 2006. It was actually a posting on here that led us to adopt him when a kennel at Tucson was closing down (we actually found our other greyhound Blossom in 2005 thanks to a person on here too). By the time he started showing anything it was too late... Attached is a picture from a few days after we got him (he tore his ear on the dog hauler on his trip to Sacramento). As soon as we got him home straight off the track he hopped right up on the couch and made himself at home. We are going to miss our big boy. Our other greyhound Blossom is trying to adjust to life without her brother (no, not actually siblings). I honestly don't think it has fully sunk in that he won't ever be back, I come in the door waiting for our "guard" greyhound to bark. Tim Here is picture of Basher and Blossom on that fateful day... Such an awful disease that takes too many of our loved ones. Please give Blossom a hug for me. I'm so sad for her too, as she is missing her dear brother as much as you are missing your boy.
