gryhnd_adoptee
Ohhhh poor Robin!! Why can't these babies just talk to us when something is wrong?? I did a quick search on canine skin conditions just to see if we can stumble upon a lead to what's going on, but unfortunately, I am still only dial up. I don't know just who I'm kidding sometimes when I think I can just sign on and load images! Here is the link I was hoping to find something at. I hope someone here can open things up just to see if there are any similarities which might lead to an easy fix for Robin. http://www.dog-health-guide.org/DiseasesandConditionsCanineSkin.html I hope this can be resolved really soon by the specialists. It breaks my heart to see them so miserable.
LBass
No ideas or advice here, but I'm so sorry that you all are dealing an unnerving "mystery condition". Poor Robin and poor you. racindog
Oh poor Robin. Hopefully the experts at the vet school will fix him. The more vets he sees the more likely one of them will will solve it. Its too bad you're not closer to me because I jsut know my holistic vet could help him. Maybe it was the pred that made it worse like some others suggusted could happen. Also the weight loss could be caused by the pred too- I knwo that from experience. Will be praying for Robin!!! fsugrad
Thank you everyone for your prayers and good thoughts for Robin. We are so worried about him and are hoping we can get some answers soon. Our vet just called and miraculously the UF Vet School had an appt come open for 10:00 a.m. tomorrow (Fri). He is going to have an internal medicine and dermatology consult. His chart's on the way there this morning so they can see everything that's been done and/or ruled out so far. I will let everyone know what we find out. On top of everything, Robin had been eating so well lately and he just picked at his breakfast this morning. My vet mentioned that perhaps he has some sort of immune mediated disease. Whatever that means. All I can think of is something like lupus? I have no clue. greyhead
I feel so useless and wish I could do more than send scritches and hugs! When Spencer was on pred last year, he dropped 5 lbs in days ! The good news is that the weight loss stopped the instant the pred was stopped. So just tell Robin to keep eatin'!
