Peanut Is Still Limping, X-Rays On Friday

I can't believe I'm posting this-again. Peanut is now limping and has been for about two weeks. She limped for a day or so a few weeks back and then it resolved. About a week or so later, it started up again. We've had her on Deramaxx and at times it's a little worse and at times barely noticeable. Of course we are freaked with having JUST lost Smiley to osteo. Anyone who saw me at Sandy Paws likely saw me either A. crying when talking about Smiley or B. expressing worry over Peanut's limp :blush .

We cut our SP trip a day short to bring her home to the vet. Of course the vet was unable to locate any painful spots (just like Smiley) so we scheduled x-rays for this coming Friday. I wanted to do x-rays immediately, but the voices of reason (Pete and our vet) felt that another week would give us a chance to see if the limp resolved or for something to show up on the x-rays if something is there. I'd hate to get clean x-rays, get our hopes up and then have to re-do them again in a few weeks. So this is where we are. I'm trying to stay positive and not have a meltdown, but sometimes it hard. I go between "We'll handle whatever comes our way" and "This is NOT happening again-I can't handle it!".

So if you could keep our Toot-Toots in your thoughts, we would be so grateful. We need our bright, joyful little girl right now. She has helped us immensely as we've grieved Smiley and I can't bear the thought of her being sick too . . .

I as just down this road with my Goldie! Limping, marked swelling at the joint right above the foot. Turned out to be very bad arthritis, and she is fine.

Hoping that Peanut's is something simple like this. Sending love, hugs and many prayers your way!

candle.gifhope.gif We are keeping the light on here for you, Peanut. Beth and Pete, this cannot be happening again. It's going to turn out to be something other than the bad stuff ... a sprain, arthritis, you'll see. grouphug.gif

Peanut will be 11 on June 11th and I do not see Onie Jones in her pedigree (according to Greyhound Data).

Thank you ALL for your well wishes and good thoughts. We are really trying to stay positive, but I am still really worried. On the one hand Friday can't get here quick enough and on the other, I hope it doesn't get here quickly at all . . . In the meantime she is getting lots of Burpdogs and attention-plus a new, hopefully wonderful, memory foam bed is on it's way for her just in case it is just arthritis. And of course-it will have her name embroidered on it-it's the little things that make life grand in times of worry!

On a side note-if it were a sprain, how long in theory could it take to heal? Is a few weeks pushing it?
