Guest ss556
It's hard to see the pic, but Alan had something growing and I put a picture here and I was told it was a skin tag. Hoping it's nothing.

CaliforniaGreys
It looks very much like a blood blister. That's what I thought but it's really black. seeh2o
It looks like a blood blister to me, too. If it is healing it may well be very dark in color. Is it tender to the touch or bothering him at all? I'm hoping you have a good report at the vet's tomorrow. From the doggy dude ranch, Carl says hi and sends good doggy vibes to his pal, Wayne. RobinM
yeah- it looks like a blood blister that is full and the reason it's so dark is that the blood is old. Is it bothering him at all? Hawthorn
When my two had growths that looked like blood blisters but didn't go away after a few weeks, I had them removed. One was a cutaneous hemangioma and one was an angiokeratoma. Both were benign but the pathology report said that if left they can sometimes progress to the malignant form, cutaneous hemangiosarcoma, so I was really glad I'd had them removed. Not saying that's what Wayne's got, but hoping for something benign in any event . Quote When a relationship of love is disrupted, the relationship does not cease. CaliforniaGreys
We're just back from the vet. Not a blood blister, it's a melanoma. The vet suggests to have it frozen off and I have to take Wayne to another vet because my vet's office doesn't have liquid nitrogen. Only one vet here in the desert has it and he's on vacation until the 6th. Then we hope it doesn't grow back. Only one vet here in the desert has it and he's on vacation until the 6th. Then we hope it doesn't grow back. Also note there's an oral melanoma "vaccine." It's curative, so "vaccine" is in quotes like that. I'm not sure if it is to be used for when you get bits frozen off and get clean margins, or if it's only to be used when you KNOW there's tumor cells present, but you might check with a specialist to see if it has an application here. I'm going to say all of a sudden unless it was so small I never saw it.And I brush Wayne's teeth so I think I would have seen it. The vet did say that 94% of these are not malignant, but the %'s didn't help with Misty's Cushings so that didn't mean much to me Edited December 27, 2008 by cbudshome Quote Missing my little Misty who took a huge piece of my heart with her on 5/2/09, and Ekko, on 6/28/12 For the sick, the lost, and the homeless
Rickiesmom
The 6th must seem like an eternity but hopefully this will be well behaved in the meantime. Agree with AHicks - check out the vaccine - there was an article about it in Whole Dog Jourmal a year or so ago - I may still have it. Since the percentages did NOT work in Misty's favor, I'm INSISTING they be in Wayne's favor! He's on my prayer list. I know the 6th can't get here fast enough for you. RobinM
Teddy had a white looking one on the roof of his mouth. When he was roaching, shortly after I adopted him I noticed what looked like a tooth growing from the roof of his mouth. It would up being benign and has not grown back so far in 2 years. They told me it could.
