RobinM
Wow- I don't know if it feels like 5 days or 5 years or something in the middle. Funny thing is I can not remember having my bed on it's frame or my Polli with 4 legs. The biggest thing I was the most concerned about was her spirit. To know Polli, you would understand why. She is my resident big mouth, although her son Beau comes in a close 2nd. Let's just say that Beau gets ALL his traits quite honestly. My Polli is back. She is demanding, vocal and is running around like she had 4 legs. She even ate her kibble and wet food 2 nights in a row. She is back to demanding cookies and demands louder if we don't move fast enough. In the begining, day by day after the amp, the days were long and the nights were longer. I was scared and wondered whether or not I did the right thing. Chemo is rough but we made it through round 2. Thank you to everyone who has cheered her on from near and far. Thank you to for the gifts, cards, PMs and calls. Thank you for being there for me. I don't know how I could have done it without you all. I hope I never have to find out. You have both been in my thoughts daily since Polli's diagnosis. Every little bit of good news brightened my day, every little setback dampened my spirit. I am taking the day off Thursday (and I am off Friday!) and having my hair highlighted and cut. I am seriously, seriously overdue. I had no time to do anything for me. Thanks!!! queenwinniesmom
Yep, you did what you had to do---because you love her so much. And she does what she has to do because she is a stubborn and resilient girl, and a force to be reckoned with! And I'm so glad she is kicking butt! I know that it was very rough there, but I just had a feeling she was still determined to do things on her own terms. I had those same misgivings and feelings of guilt with Winnie (who was the definition of a tough old girl), and we had over 3 years of quality time together. Yes, cancer is a crapshoot, but you have to do what you know in your heart is right. And you know exactly what is right for Polli. She's pretty wonderful, isn't she?
