queenwinniesmom
Oh, Linda, my heart is aching for you. I can understand your anger and your pain. I think that's a stage you have to go through as you try to process your worst nightmare becoming real. As you think about decisions and what is right for Cricket and for you, you'll become more focused on that. Please don't let that sadness steal this precious time away from you. Thank-you for posting her pictures. What a beautiful girl she is. You will both be in my prayers. patricia
Sending more prayers for the pretty lady. BTW...Angel LaceyLaine was always VERY thirsty after her chemo treatments. I know for a fact...my babes will not eat or drink in the clinical setting...not even a cookie. Kiss Baby Girl Cricket for me. As for diet...we were dealing with the "don't give certain foods...it's not a good cancer diet....plus Lacers had Pancreatitis" HOWEVER...It comes right down to getting them to EAT whatever you can get them to EAT! Oncology also gave us Remeron for an appetite stimulant and it worked like a charm for quite a while. Quote Patti-Mommy of Lady Sophia 7-28-92 - 8-3-04... LaceyLaine 8-2-94-12-5-07... Guest ss556
I'm so sorry about Cricket. There are no words. This cancer thing sucks big time, in humans and our greys. Sending prayers for Cricket and hugs to you at this difficult time. She is gorgeous - and she is loved.
Guest KRKWMU
I'm glad to hear that Cricket's home after the radiation. That probably makes things better for her and you! You're very knowledgeable about what works and how to handle things after chemo (unfortunately). Hang in there. Cricket is such a cutie. I love that first picture of her. Guest myjazzy
I'm so glad you have your baby back home. Jazzy was always a bit more sedate and didn't want to eat too much after her chemo treatments. She should start feeling better today and even better tomorrow. Chemo is not as bad for dogs as it is for humans, but it still does affect them. I would say Jazzy's appetite was off for a couple of days after each chemo treatment. I hope your sweet beautiful girl gets back to normal soon. Sending good thoughts for Cricket and you. This is tough on the humans too.

Oncology also gave us Remeron for an appetite stimulant and it worked like a charm for quite a while. Cricket has always been a chow hound...I swear the girl would eat wall paper paste if you offered it her. I will definitely ask for Remeron when I go next week for her treatment. After I got my baby girl home, I was holding up pretty good....but on the way to work this morning I missed my exit on the Parkway. I'm just so preoccupied thinking about her and filled with such worry. Life goes on....just taking one day at a time. When I went to my regular vet for the referral for the specialist, Bonnie, a vet tech, asked me, "Linda..are you ok?" I told her, "I have to be." Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement. I know you've had your share of heartache too.

Guest jettcricket
My neighbor, Pat, who lets the dogs out lunch time just called and said that Cricket came out of our bedroom with her tail wagging and she even took a treat. Granted on 3 legs, but it made me happy...it's so hard when our kids are hurt or when they are in pain. I told God, please take her pain away...give it to me instead of my girl child. They really are like children...so sweet and so pure. I can't wait to go home and love on her.
