  1. Looked up bumblebees and found this: Queen and worker bumblebees can sting. Unlike a honey bee's stinger, a bumblebee's stinger lacks barbs, so it can sting repeatedly without injuring itself. Bumblebee species are not normally aggressive, but will sting in defense of their nest, or if harmed.
  2. Sneakers has a wonderful winter coat from http://www.needlenoseapparel.com/Needle_Nose_Apparel/Needle_Nose_Apparel.html my other two winter coats are from someone who no longer makes coats. We have jammies from http://www.cottagehounddesigns.com/ and light weight fall spring jackets from http://www.greyhoundfleecejackets.com/ (these also work as jammies). As you can see we have a wardrobe here , Sneakers gets cold easily, Sky not so much. Dood doesn't like to wear a coat and doesn't seem to get cold as easily. Every dog is different I would first invest in a light fleece jacket and see how your pup does in the early fall.
  3. My bridge boy Clark had an eye ulcer. My vet referred us to a specialist after we saw no improvement in one week. The specialist diagnosed him with punctate keratitis. When he too a picture of his eye it looked like a star field, not only was there the ulcer we saw but lots of little tiny ulcers!! poor boy! He also had the small ulcers in the other eye. With proper treatment we had him cleared up and feeling better, no loss of sight.
  4. We went through something similar with my bridge girl Gypsy. The only thing that worked for her was Sulfasalazine and a fish based no grain kibble. Pork actually made things worse for her, anything with grains was out. She was never really firm, but it was formed just soft.
  5. Sounds like she is really happy to be home and feeling so much better!
  6. Sneakers has seizures, we did blood work on him and a thyroid test and all were normal. His are infrequent so we don't medicate. I do keep a spreadsheet with date, time and description of the seizure.
  7. My bridge pup Clark split the web on one of his back feet. My vet stitched up the sides. He said there was no point in stitching the web back together. We stitched it because it would heal faster. Bandage off the next day, bootie on when he went out to keep it clean. Healed up very fast.
  8. Welcome back. I loved living in Japan. I'm sure a greyhound is a big hit there! I lived there twice. In Sasebo as a child, then stationed at Kami Seya as an adult.
  9. You gave your girl a great gift. You let her go without being selfish. You could have kept her around longer and run tests and she would have been sick and suffering. Instead you did what was best for her! More painful for you, but best for her. Don't second guess yourself, sometimes Google is not helpful!
  10. What a beautiful tribute to a beautiful and special girl. So sorry for your loss.
  11. I'm so sorry! Sadie was a very special and much loved girl.
  12. My bridge boy liked ground raw chicken or cream cheese (especially the strawberry flavored!) for pills.
