I'm so sorry for your loss, she and my Dreamy were taken much too young. I guess the angels needed a couple of crazy black hounds doing zoomies up there.

Dreamy left us tonight, she was in horrible pain. When I got home from work last night she was in bad shape. She was panting , pacing and crying. anytime she would try to lay down she would scream. I gave her her meds early and upped the Tramadol she got 250 mg of Tramadol and 250 mg of Methocarbamol. The meds did nothing for her. I took her to the referral clinic. They gave her something to relieve the pain and it just didn't work. She couldn't lay down it was awful. She stood until she left for the bridge. This morning I saw the paw print the clinic gave me and started crying again. My special girl is playing with the angels today. Run free sweetie you are greatly missed!

My Dreamy takes forever to pee. She also usually will poop before she pees. Dreamy will voluntarily hold it for ten to twelve hours then pee a river. When she does go she takes a long time to find the "right" spot. She has always been this way. Sky my other female runs out does her business and comes right back in. Sky also goes more frequently. Dreamy goes out with Sneakers and Sky, but comes right back in without doing anything most of the time. That is just her way and always has been. Molly sounds like she is just like Dreamy, different but nothing wrong with that. Unless you are waiting for her to find the right spot when the wind chill is below zero!

One thing I found would work with Clark when he didn't want to eat was McDonalds hamburgers. If I hand fed him small pieces I could usually get two or three into him. Saying prayers for your pup.

Try soaking the kibble or mixing the canned food with some vanilla Ensure.

Just be careful what you use, Meloxicam cannot be used with prednisone. So if you need to go back to the pred you have to have her off the Meloxicam.

Dreamy lost weight when she first went on Pred. Once the dose was tapered down she gained it back. She is still on it and now we have to worry about her gaining weight.

Dreamy lost quite a bit of weight initially when she was put on pred. Now that her dosage is lower she has gained it back. Hopefully you will have the same luck.

With Clark all I could get him to eat was EVO canned and McDonalds hamburgers.

Sneakers goes crazy over nectarines. Sneakers loves fruit he will also eat peaches, plums, apples, pears and cherries. The girls also will eat fruit if offered but not as crazy about them.

Dreamy gets pills 3 times a day. I use liverwurst in the morning when she gets 3 pills. DH uses a slice of cheese for her afternnon pill. Then for her last pill before bedtime I use cream cheese. She loves her treats and so do the other pups because they get some too.

Wow! that was scarey! glad to hear your boy is feeling better. Makes me glad Sneakers is such a roacher! I get pornograhic views of his privates everyday!
