  1. I'm so sorry she couldn't stay longer.
  2. I'm sorry for your loss.
  3. Thank you for everyone's input. I decided to try NutriSource Nutrisource They have grain free and a buffalo version. The feed store I prefer to use carries NutriSource and will order the buffalo for me. NutriSource is only manufactured in one plant, I thought about going to Fromm, they are also only manufactured in one plant right here in Wisconsin. NutriSource comes in a bigger bag for the same price. With three to feed that was something to consider.
  4. That works to and is even better because the container never gets dirty. Out of curiosity what make and model of storage container do you have that can fit the entire bag and still close the cover? I really want to do that as well but can't find one that fits the Kirkland bags. I bought mine at Petsmart, not sure if this is the same one, but it looks like it: Dog food container The wheels make it so easy to move, especially with a full bag inside.
  5. The container I use is big enough to fit the whole bag in. I just cut the top of the bag off. This way I have all the info and the container stays clean.
  6. Check the info on this site: Dog Food Advisor I also feed grain free and due to the recalls am switching foods. I was looking at Nutro or Avoderm both have grain free. Now I have decided on either NutriSource or Fromm. Both are available where I prefer to buy my dog food and both have grain free.
  7. With the recent recalls I feel a need to change from Taste of the Wild.I am debatingng between: Nutro Natural Choice Grain Free Venison and Grain Free AvoDerm Red Meat Meal & Potato Formula Does anyone feed either of these or have a recommendation for a grain free food that has red meat (beef, buffalo or venison) and hopefully more reasonably priced. I found back when we had to change my bridge girl Gypsy to grain free that all of my pups did better on grain free. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  8. I am so sorry. I was hoping the news today was going to be good.
  9. Skin infection was there before the back problem. I had noticed the red spots but thought they would go away. They didn't so I had them checked out today. Her pred has been tapered down. The plan is to keep her on this low dose for a now.
  10. Depends on how many are lost. For most a moistened dry diet for a few days to a week is fine. Hugs to your pup.
  11. Dreamy is moving much better. Back to bringing a stuffy to the door when she goes out (still leash walking her). She went back for her recheck today. She still yelps if pressed on in the area between her shoulders. She has lost 8lbs in less than a month even though she is eating really well, actually with the pred she is eating better. She used to leave half of her breakfast now she eats all of it. Totally unrelated she has a staff infection on her belly, noticed a couple of spots and they checked them out. They drew blood to run some tests to see if we can find out why she is losing weight. Dreamy stays on the pred and tramadol. Now she has antibiotics for the staff infection. This girl is working really hard to worry me. But she sure is enjoying all her vet visits it's a good thing she loves to go.
  12. I am so sorry you lost both your girls.
  13. Updated in first post. Thank you for your prayers, they are working!
