  1. I am so sorry you didn't get more time with your beautiful Nell. They are never with us long enough, but it sounds like you made the most of the time you had.
  2. I've been getting mine from Amazon.
  3. My first grey had back end/spinal problems when she got older. Steroids helped her short term, but what really helped was acupuncture. It helped some right away, but took about a month for the full effect, but she went from not being able to stand, much less walk, to about 90% normal after a month of acupuncture. We were able to increase the time between sessions after that to first once a month, then once every six weeks. The other thing that helped in the interim was snow adequan injection. I would definitely try the acupuncture! I hope Zola can get better!
  4. I agree, get the ultrasound, for your own piece of mind. Hopefully, it is something minor, but (I think) it is always better to know.
  5. I am so sorry I know it doesn't seem like it now, because they are never with us long enough, but how lucky you were to have her for so long.
  6. Depends on what you mean by "rock" My back yard is half gravel (a little larger than "pea") and half grass/dirt, and the dogs prefer to go on the gravel. However, if you are talking about big, uneven, pointy rocks, yuck, no, I don't think he would ever get used to that!
  7. One thing that might help your control (and keep him from injuring his neck) is to use a harness instead of a collar. I had a large (90 lbs) very leash reactive greyhound, and the harness, and a leash with a "handle" so I could keep him on a very short leash when I needed to, really helped a lot. I was more in control. and I think the harness actually made him feel more secure as well.
  8. Well, bladder infections are no fun, but at least they can be fixed! that that's all it is.
  9. "A head like a snake, a neck like a drake, a back like a beam, the sides of a bream, be footed like a cat and have a tail like a rat" Not very appealing, is it lol (Juliana Berners, 1486)
  10. I am so very sorry. It is hard when you don't really have an answer, and 7 is much too young, but in the end Maya knew she was loved
  11. I know how worried you must be :candle
  12. I understand your frustration! I feel that there are some dogs that are just, high strung? nervy? I don't know exactly the word, but they are easily stressed and act out, no matter what training and socializing you have done, and I know you have tried everything with Truman. I think they are sort of like spooks, in that the behavior is just part of them. You can learn to manage it, and sometimes make it better, but it isn't something that can be trained out of them. My heart dog, Fletcher, was very like Truman, and there are many things I just stopped doing with him. It wasn't always easy, but I loved him so much and miss him every day, although there is no question my "dog life" is easier now.
  13. Oh no! I was so sorry to see his name here Carl was one of a kind.
  14. I am so sorry, what a lot of personality she packed into a small body.
