  1. Happiest of birthdays to roo from Flying Odin in lower Delaware. They are so handsome!
  2. I still use the old wives tale of duck tape. After a week or so, I am able to pick out the corn with my finger nail. And, sadly, it does come back.
  3. Because, your good girl would never do this.
  4. Happiest of birthdays to roo from Flying Odin in lower Delaware. You share a birthday month and birthday age with Odin!
  5. Odin asked me to thank everyone for the birthday wishes.
  6. I do have a problem to post photos, here, but, want to acknowledge that our handsome Odin is 11 years old today. Happy birthday big guy, we love you.
  7. Poor Punkin. Our Paulie only had two teeth left and he did fine. We soaked his kibble from meal to meal and added soft canned meat. He could even eat a biscuit occasionally. You feel better pretty girl.
  8. I am in tears from reading your tribute. There are no other dogs like this breed.
  9. Sometimes we are lucky with a pet that, for the most part, is pretty healthy and not accident prone, and other times not so much. Shine had a $6000 broken ankle but what are you supposed to do? You take a pet into your home and it becomes your responsibility. Not to be harsh, but, you have to realize that there may be expenses involved with pet ownership. Try and put some money away on a regular basis that you can use if an emergency arises. I'm sorry that you are going thru this; been there done that. I wouldn't trade any of the dogs, from over the years, for anything. There are quite a few I wish were still here with us.
  10. An offer from Houndtime: Since we are unable to attend Greyhounds in Gettysburg, again, this year, I would like to make an offer that will please some of you. Any ready-made fleece jacket ($20) or flannel house coat ($25), that I may have available in the size you need, will be shipped to you postage free. At the event, you might buy a Zoom Doggie product all ready-made, and would not have the extra expense of the postage. This offer is in effect for this week and thru Sunday, April 23 when the event ends. Take a look at the website, houndtime.com and see if there are any patterns that you like. Email me with the size you need, and I can tell you what is available in your requested size. Thank you. Looking forward to seeing you at Reach The Beach in October.
  11. I think I should have mentioned this earlier; I also use the veterinarian's potato diet as well in the beginning of treating diarrhea. One white potato, one sweet potato, a leek and a turnip. I double so as to have enough for a couple of days interspersed with the plain chicken. (You only need on turnip and leek as you only use a bit of it.) Google it an check it out. Also you can make a slurry with slippery elm bark to coat his stomach before eating.
  12. Good boy Facebook. Like Odin, he also spends most of his day upside down, or laying on top of some of his toys.
  13. Interesting. I use Evangers and most people have never heard of it. I find the chicken and rice works very well, also. I do have the organic chicken too. Compared to some of the canned foods, it is very reasonably priced. For those who care; it is Kosher and Kosher for Passover. I have been using the Hills Chicken and Barley this time and so far it is working.
  14. My 11 year old Odin is having the same issues. Initially, we attributed it to the heart worm meds, but then it started occurring at different times of the month. Even though he was making puddles, he had no urgency. He looks to us like he has lost weight. Like you, we tried many things. Last week, our vet had us tried Hills WD and it worked! We now have him on Hills Chicken and Barley, which you can buy over the counter at the pet store or on line. It also seems to be working, but, time will tell. So far, so good! Good luck with your grey.
