    My are dogs on the Turkey and Potato. Good poops but a LOT of poop. They seem to really like it. We are avoiding rice because sadly rice, especially American rice, has arsenic in it and even people shouldn't have it more than once or twice a week. (See Consumer Report Mag., not known to be a radical rag).

    How old is she?

    One of our old lab crosses would fall over infrequently and I don't believe they found anything in the blood work that would explain it. She was eventually diagnosed by ultrasound with hemangiosarcoma in her spleen and heart. At that point it wasn't treatable, not sure if it ever is treatable. Hope your girl gives you much more time with her.

    Django also hardly ate anything after his non-grey sister died. I had to go completely raw for awhile.

    No expert here, my boy doesn't smile - but from what I have read and seen - smiling is reflective of a submissive/excited/greeting state. Check out smiling greyhounds on youtube; they all seem to have 4 feet on the ground. I think Boo is "showing his teeth", not smiling, and giving you a message.

    Just mentioning that steroids (prednesone) causes muscle wasting. No advice but best wishes on the other stuff!
