  1. Best wishes from Calgary for your old boy.
  2. A chance encounter, a leap of faith on both sides...a life saved. Godspeed precious Blossom.
  3. 8am and 5pm here, cookies at bedtime, before they go out to pee, or they won't do their business and just focus on getting back inside.

    Billy

Deb and John - so sorry to see you lost your wild boy. He couldn't have had a better home. Godspeed Billy.
  5. I think of them as potato chips. (Except they get only one of course.) A Saturday night treat. We have never had any issues with them here.
  6. I am sick at heart. Godspeed Nell. We are enduring osteo with our beloved big lab/pyr cross too.
  7. She looks Ibezan and greyhound to me. I'd feed her a little more. Nice pack of dogs!
  8. So happy to see her doing so well I might do the spins!
  9. I've been missing the adventures of Hester! Hope everything is fine.
  10. Possibly the most beautiful tribute to a hound I have ever read. So sorry for the loss of your gentle girl.
  11. We wrapped our boy's scratch that he kept enlarging with some vet wrap and then he left it alone.
  12. No expert here, but although well muscled, it look like her hip points are maybe a little too prominent. Could use a couple more pounds I think. She's eating you out of house and home already though!
  13. His MCV and MCH are just outside the 'normal' range. Macoduck - I believe these values have something to do with the size of the red blood cells. With respect to his T4, the value is for 'total' T4 in nmol/L. (What ever that is!) Under 13 nmol/L is interpreted as low, so he's running pretty low.
  14. I recently had Django in for a check-up. He still appears to be in fighting form, although he is nine as of January. I have looked at the blood values for greyhounds posted at Greyt Health, but can't find mention of normal mcv and mch; his values are 74.0 (mcv) and 26.1 (mch). His total T4 has dropped from 10.04 to 6.95. My vet isn't concerned, but I'm considering changing insurance companies so I don't want any surprises down the road. Any opinions out there? Thanks in advance.
  15. So sorry you lost your lovely loyal girl. Rest in Peace, Queen. Your friends on Greytalk are thinking of you both.
  16. We are going through the same thing with our lab/pyr cross. I actually misunderstood the pricing of the chemo - (it's WAY more expensive in Canada) and was shocked to find out what the actual price of 6 sessions was...but we elected to carry on as we were already in to it so deeply $$$ from the radiation and as not to waste what we had already spent, we carried on with the best possible treatment. I continue to marvel at the medical miracle of the treatment every day, knowing she would have been dead in Dec. if we hadn't gone forward with it. It is truly sad not every one has the means to proceed.
  17. Very sorry you have lost your sweet old man. He was one of my favourites too.
  18. There are some grey-owning vets on this site and hopefully they will see this and help you. Sounds scary. Best of luck with your girl.
