  1. No advice, just wishing the best for you and DeeDee.
  2. I concur with FastDogsOwnMe - I would have fed it to my dogs too. They don't have the same delicate gut (when it comes to bacteria) we have - their wild forebears eat carrion and god knows mine have eaten godknowswhat in the alley before I could get it out their mouths. Have not had any problems.
  3. Our old lab/shep cross died at home of naural causes and it was a beautiful thing. She had a chronic illness for at least the better part of a year and her back end was gone, but the day she died was not out of the ordinary. However, in the night she got herself up, god knows how, and made it to the back door and I let her out. When she came back in she didn't want to go to her bed in our room but instead made her way to her day bed. In the morning it became very clear that she was dying, and I had the luxury of being beside her until the end, some 8 hours or so later. It was a gift for both of us.
  4. I am so sorry to see you lost your little girl. I am grateful that I was given the opportunity to meet her, and you and John. My thoughts are with you in this very difficult time. Run free, sweety!
  5. Welcome to GT from Calgary! (Vancouver born and raised however). Thought that beach looked like our west coast. I was thinking up by Tofino though. Django sends a greeting to a fellow spotty dog.
  6. She sits like an old labrador girl, and I mean that in the nicest possible way...congrats!

I'm so sorry to see that you lost another one of your pack. He was a very handsome boy. Love those big ones. My heart goes out to you in this difficult time.
  8. Welcome! I also have a pyr cross (lab/border) and she is nicely bonded with my grey. When they play in the yard it is tractor vs. ferrari.
  9. I would second that it is neurological. My 15 yr old lab cross did the same thing and she had no idea she was doing it. She couldn't seem to feel what was going on back there. I wish you all the best luck. Maybe acupucture would offer some help?
  10. It's very hard to lose a beautiful girl like Honey. Best wishes in this difficult time.
  11. Spottydog says hi from Calgary!

  12. We had some bad gums in this house and I just kept brushing even though the brush was red. Her gums really cleared up - no more blood. I use a dental rinse called "Nolvadent" - just a drop or two - on the bad areas. Don't know if you guys have it down there in the US. You get it at your vet's.
  13. A lovely tribute to your old man. Rest In Peace, Bacchus.
  14. I'm no expert but my guy occasionally goes off his food. I had to feed him raw for awhile to get him to eat properly, but now we are back on a different kibble with a raw topping (sometimes it's a spoon of wet cat food).
  15. Phew! I was a litltle worried when you didn't post. Was it way cheaper in Montana than here?
  16. We just had a trainer in for a similar problem and her solution is to distract with really good treats. It's sorta working...and so is the harness thing. Who knew they would be much less reactive when they weren't attached at the collar?
  17. I'm very sorry for your terrible loss.
  18. Best wishes to Vegas from Django and his mother.
  19. I very frequently feed different kinds of whole fish - guts, head, all of it except the fins. They love it. I'm unclear what the problem is. They have pretty strong stomach acid.
  20. I'm really sorry for you. I hope your time with her is sweet.
  21. Just looking at your Kennel's dogs for adoption. They wouldn't last 5 minutes in Calgary, Canada. We almost never see blues and not many white/black spots either. ( I am the proud owner of a large w/b spot man myself!). Beautiful dogs and enjoy your posts. Best wishes, Margo
