  1. Milo barks Thank You! Milo was dubious about the snowman peeps at first -- in his old age, he has become cautious about unfamiliar foods. But when he saw Gelsey gulp down her portion, he dogged up and enjoyed it. He didn't have to investigate the chicken pepperoni -- that went down toot sweet! I am looking forward to having the dogs try out the licking mat (thank goodness it has a spatula to put sticky stuff on it). It has suction cups -- do I put it on the refrigerator? Or can it be easily attached to other surfaces? I've heard that peanut butter is the usual food spread on it, but I bet things like soft cheese and soft sausages like liverwurst would work, too. Any suggestions welcome. Your Christmas card is lovely -- and Mama Mia is so tiny! She looks half Odin's size. And there's a beautiful card for me with something sealed inside it. I look forward to finding out what. My applause for your packing skills. Everything fit so efficiently in that one box, and so beautifully wrapped in tissue paper. Your packaging tape required the equivalent of a samurai sword to get into the package, too. Thanks!
  2. Grievance lists for both dogs are very long, but top problems are: Gelsey: Starvation. She gained only 3 lbs this past year. Milo: Having a sister. Shared: Dogwalker does not have a consistent schedule, so hounds have to be alert at all times to ensure they are not overlooked and left behind. Exhausting! Does that make this grievance a Feat of Strength?
  3. Such shiny black fur. Such pearly teeth (the better to eat you with, my dear). Such control over his ears. Such a furious attack on that sand.
  4. Not just one, but two! She is beside herself with anticipation! And I've caught her watching Specky's video to get tips on opening presents. We plan on opening everything on the 25th, unless an elf flags us down to tell us different.
  5. I've got a huge number of the paper ones, if anyone wants to pay shipping.
  6. BLS! And eat speculaas cookies* in her honor *kind of a thin, spicy gingerbread cookie
  7. That girl was efficient. A model of form follows function.
  8. I'd forgotten that Roger Miller song and how much I enjoyed singing along. It's a good song for dogs -- "But you can be happy if you've a mind to."
  9. A cold nose isn't so bad if the rest of you is toasty warm. Does AnnIE want to share the window space? Milo has fallen in love with his heated seat in the car. He doesn't bother looking outside, just curls up on the warm seat. Meanwhile, Gelsey's going gaga at her window.
  10. Milo found a hanukkah package in our mailbox. Thank you, Irene!. We will save it and open everything on one big extravaganza morning.
  11. Congreytulations, Team Willa! Cheeseburgers all around!
  12. Maybe if you keep telling her how pretty she looks in it ... .
  13. And the lovely photographs by you to show off your handsome boy! How did you think to get Mooney started in tracking? I see where it says you were looking for an activity outlet for him, but it's not something I'd immediately associate with sighthounds.
  14. Happy birthday to roo Happy birthday to roo Happy birthday, dear AnnIE Haaappy birthdaaay to roooooooooooooooooooo from Milo and Gelsey PS: May you have an adventure worthy of a new chapter in your book today
  15. Poor Punkin. Hope she's having sweet dreams. Are you having shingles put on so it's pound-pound-pound-pound? We had the opposite roofing weather some years ago -- 90+ F. Metal roof. T-shaped house, chimney, so all sorts of nooks and crannies. Roofers arranged to arrive at 7 a.m. and they stuck it out as long as they could but that was only about 1-2 p.m. Jeter was in heaven. In. Heaven. He loved groups of people, and quickly became just one of the guys. He'd go out the dog door and supervise from a shaded place in the back yard. Guys would climb down a ladder to pet him and stuff him full of chicken biscuits and hamburgers. Jeter was crushed when they finally finished the job -- probably should have gotten woowoo drops then. Milo couldn't have cared less, although I'm sure a few chicken biscuits made it down his throat, too.
  16. Milo is confuzzled, twisted, and puzzled Deep in thought -- to answer or not? He thought that the deal Was to reply only "for real." But he never objects to spread the word About his favorite things, cool or absurd. He loves to eat anything, but his teeth Grow fewer by the year He still can crunch a milk-bone, But nothing harder, dear. He likes collars, orange or black To match his handsome stripes For fancy dates, a bow-tie Would make his couture right He's never been a toy guy Preferring the real thing But please don't ship a rabbit, Coon, or bird upon the wing If truth be told, Milo is just a little vain And admires his pictures surrounded by a frame He'd also like for Ellen to have a kitchen timer That dings gently and does not Scare the poop out of his hiner Dental wipes or ear cleaner Would make this old guy shine He likes to be a dapper gent Have no doubts, Milo is fine
  17. Happy birthday to roo Happy birthday to roo Happy birthday, dear Punkin Haappppyyyy biiirrrrthdaaaaay ... to ... ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO from Milo (high tenor) and Gelsey (scratchy beagle-like howl)
