  1. Yeah. Me too. I'm not surprised. I'm going to give them a little more $$ since this is their biggest fundraiser. I'm just sad that CC (my Canidrome girl) isn't going to make it to GIG. She turned 6 yesterday. She will not see 7. Her kidneys just will not make it that long.
  2. I don't think dog shortages are due to lack of dogs but rather to stance of the group.
  3. It needs to be sent to all those people who say "it's just a dog".
  4. Thanks to Ducky I now have a place to stay this year.
  5. Yes. On both. I'm glad I procrastinated on getting my room even though I already registered. Thanks for thinking of a GTer when you opted to cancel.
  6. Me!! For the Quality inn. If it's not to late. I'm sorry you're not going, I enjoy running into you and saying hi during these events.
  7. Whatever decision you make is the right one. As you're making it out of love. I won't tell you what to do. But I'll tell you what I did. I went the amp route for two girls. A 12 year old and 9 year old. I had Diamond out to OSU (from NJ) for a ton of examinations to make sure she could handle it at her age. Dr. Couto said age is just a number. Diamond was a very healthy 12 year old. She did fantastic and even surprised her care givers with her recovery. She lasted a wonderful pain free 6 months before osteo hit the back leg. Tanzi lasted 14 terrific months enjoying life to the fullest before osteo hit her back end. God I miss my Tanzi. It's supposed to be rare that osteo comes back in another bone but both my girls had that. While the first 2 weeks are very hard, you'll question your decision, once you're past that there's no stopping them. They just won't be able to do the walking distance you once did. And be careful of stairs. They forget they lost a limb. Good luck.
  8. Tin and Michael, I'm so sorry you lost Ambi. What a beautiful face. It'll be hard to get past him not being there.
  9. So, for Washington peeps with Healthy Paws, you should get a refund. https://amp.insurancejournal.com/news/west/2020/01/21/555412.htm In case you don't get the connection in the article, Greenberg owns Ace which bought out Chubb who owns Healthy Paws.
  10. Unfortunately it just happened again to me. Logged out but automatically logged back in if I just clicked on a forum. I didn't try to log back in so no error message. It happened on my Samsung tablet.
  11. My Pearl took vetmedine for years. She also didn't succumb to heart issues. You have my deepest sympathies.
  12. I think its actually easier because neither will be possessive of the property as theirs. They are both coming into a new situation. Do you currently have anything else at home? Cats, kids, ferrets, etc? And don't worry if you think neither will bond with you. Tanzanite and Emerald came at the same time and Tanzanite worshipped me. So it's in their personality how much they'll bond with you.
  13. I am only getting logged out a lot. But I don't try to log back in. I just hit the back button or a forum and seem to be logged back on. I use a tablet.
  14. Another jackpot from Sarabz! Emma scored! Unfortunately no pix, but here is the lowdown: A huge bag of homemade dog cookies. Three different flavors and shapes. Emma (and CC) definitely approve. And for my palate, a homemade jar of salsa, and Lindor chocolates. Num! Hers and hers matching bling. A necklace for Emma and the matching bracelet for me. And greyhound socks (which, by the way will be visiting Antarctica in February) Thank you very very much Mary Pat and Emerald
  15. Thank you Celbee! I hit the jackpot. Carol made CC's first Christmas unforgettable. I wish I could post pix, but here's the goofy list: Two toys: a fluffy turtle and her favorite a fluffy lamb. She loves them both. (Emma likes them too) Tons of edibles: marshmallows, peanut butter dog cookies, maple cookie straws, moose munch, and mint chocolate sticks for hot chocolate. And greyhound socks (which, by the way will be visiting Antarctica in February) Thank you so very much! Mary Pat and CC
  16. Celbee/Carol. Thank you! The box has arrived. Can we wait until Christmas to open?
  17. Elfster is odd. Some people can mark sent, others can't. Might have to do with the gift being under a human's name vs a dogs name. So please don't rely on Elfster for info.
  18. According to elfster, it's in the mail.
  19. How's everyone doing? I think I've counted 9 gifts received. I hope all gifts have at least been mailed since they would need to be at the recipient's door by Christmas eve. Happy hanukkah and merry Christmas everyone!
  20. Unfortunately I used photobucket for all my pix.
