  1. Congratulations on the new addition to the family. His health may slowly improve now, but I guess that depends a lot on how much care or lack of care was provided by previous owners. Hopefully he has many many good days left.

  8. Yes, copy the important points down from this thread so you have them with you (in case you forget what to ask) and see your reg vet asap. If he/she doesn't do anything differently for Amber's care, get a second opinion asap.
  9. Maybe it got dry and that caused it to bleed?? not sure but I am glad he's healing. Give my sweetie some scritches please...and a good bum rub while you're at it.

  11. Welcome from Canada. I love that you adopted Irish Greyhounds! I have friends here who adopted an Irish Greyhound from an Ontario adoption group and hope many people learn more about them and want to adopt them. There's a Facebook group, FIG, Flying Irish Greyhounds, who encourage people to post pics of their Irish Greyhounds so more people all over the world can see what great pets they make. I posted the links below if you want to know where to post more pics. https://www.facebook.com/flyingirishgreyhounds?fref=ts http://www.flyingirishgreyhounds.com/about-fig/
  12. I'm so sorry for your loss. What a wonderful last day.
  13. sending good thoughts and hope it is eradicated
  14. I too knew this day would come, but it's still sad that he didn't have a bit more time with you where he was loved and cherished. I guess because he was such a sweet old soul (and only 25 days younger than Ben) that he touched my heart. Your kindness and love are so evident in his beautiful tribute Ducky, you are such a special person
  15. fyi, Sighthounds can see very well. Do you have any trails or anywhere you can walk her without triggering her fears? You may need to take baby steps with her starting out in areas where she feels safe then slowly desensitizing her and gradually introducing some of the things that stress her or cause her to freeze by using training techniques that don't allow the fear to escalate first. clear as mud??
  16. Losing them is so hard and then going through the "firsts" without them can be really difficult. She was such a precious soul. No wonder you miss her so much
