HeyRunDog
As it was -5C (23F) this morning when I took Grace for her walk I put her new fleece lined coat on with a polo neck to keep her warm. We started off OK but she started to walk slower and slower before long she stopped. She looked up at me as if to say "I'm not nesh, coats are for wimps." So I took her coat off and we carried on walking. After doing her usual poop, pee and second poop I turned around to take the shortest way back as I was starting to get cold. But no. I got that "stop being nesh" look again and she insisted we do the usual full walk back home. I'll just have to make sure my next greyhound is nesh so the coat gets used and doesn't go to waste. *Being either afraid of the cold or feeling the cold. Mikalela
Ahah Grace sounds amazing! Same here, I've brought Luna a ton of coats, knitted one myself, and another one is on its way now -I never learn!- but she only tolerates a light waterproof coat only if it is pouring down! She gives me the same "I'm not nesh" look (thank you, I learnt a new word today!) and stops walking until I take her coat off, even if she's shaking from the cold 🤷♀️ And same thing this morning: it was freezing, I wanted to go home but no, let's check out every single bush and sniff every corner! We actually stayed out longer than usual 🙄 What a silly, totally adorable little princess, I love her so much!

rsieg
On the other hand, Grace may be saying you need to spend more money on a second, lighter coat for these "warmer" -5C days -- the fleece-lined coat should only come out when gets below -10C :-) Quote RobLogan - - Max (Aug. 4, 2004 - Jan. 11, 2018)

GreyPoopon
Nesh is a great word. People around here tend to become more nesh as they get older. My girls are fairly tolerant of their coats. The (partial) exception is Ivy, who slo-o-o-o-o-ws down when she warms up, summer or winter. But it hardly seems right not to use a coat when the others need theirs... kudzu
In my household, we are all very nesh. I admire the un-nesh. [Nesh is a new word for me & now that I know it I will likely use it a lot. 🙂]
