Even though your vet was very compassionate to let you speak to her on the phone, and she surely found comfort in your voices, I know that you ached to hold her. Guest lynne893 Posted January 1, 2014 Share Posted January 1, 2014 Thank you again everyone. Day by day the pain is easing and we've been able to laugh a little about her cute tendencies today. We're trying to keep ourselves busy to pass the time, so we did a jig-saw puzzle and tended to the yard a little-- which made me remember what a curious dog Swiftie was... I had to squish aphids off our milkweed plant and Swiftie would've been right there nuzzling up to me to see what I was doing. Loved that little beastie. DH spoke with Swiftie's regular vet on Monday and the vet affirmed our choice to let her go, as did the emergency vet who treated her. It was such a shocking, heartbreaking experience, but we've been so comforted by those who cared for her in her last hours and by others who've been through it....
