Maddux (5-98 to 11-8-2010) was the last of our original greyhounds we adopted the first year we adopted greyhounds.Dave and I are of course sadden by his passing but we feel more blessed than anything enjoying his love and company for over 9 years.I wish not to dwell on what we lost but rather celebrate what we had with the Maddux dog. There is to much to mention but I will keep it to 9, 1 for every year we were blessed

1. You were our 1st greyhound's sibling, Cannonball's brother, and I have never seen 2 animal siblings so tight. You showed us that 2 brothers in the animal kingdom can be tight and open us to the world of adopting families together Thank you

2. Sorry but Highstrung almost neutered you again in the back of the Cherokee when she reached up & bit you right were no guy should ever get bit! That was eventually a funny story…Thank you.

3. Your toenail tore partly out while on the road…My DH and I were in a panic since you were on that iron regiment, never seen so much blood from 1 little nail. Someone took me by the hand I was a new grey mom panicing and you showed me people in the greyhound community are kind and helpful…Thank you.

4. You were there when our house collapsed. You literally saw the roof fall in…you stayed strong despite being a shy guy. The only thing left of our house was the brick walls and we had to go live in a hotel. My DH and I felt bad having to move all of you guys into a little hotel room…but the 2nd night there you roached. I knew then things were somehow going to turn out ok. Thank you

5.Thank you for giving me such wonderful greyhound pics. Some of my most loved pics are the pics of you with your soulful look and big brown eyes. You were always patient with me. Thank you

6. Despite being one of our shyer hounds you still knew how to work a crowd and left a lasting impression on many people. You managed to slip into many a hearts not just ours…you helped a few hounds find homes. You were a greyt ambassodog. Thank you

7. You build was wonderful! No one thought wow that dog is too skinny. Your chest was like a bulldog’s. You showed people that a greyhound is an athlete and should be look at as one, not as a skinny weak dog! Thank you

8. You were the best alpha male. You were a strong silent leader, no growling necessary it was just your presence that other dogs respected. If you were challenged you made sure you stayed on top. You taught the puppy Yaz (my GT pup from Kansas) good dog manners. Thank you

9. You were much loved by all, you had many aunties and uncles, I have many close friends, because of you. Thank you

Most of all THANK YOU MADDUX DOG FOR BEING YOU. doGspeed SWEET BOY!!! (first pic is him after enjoying some burb dogs on his 12th b-day...next 2 are of his foot were the Osteo was)

I am so sorry for your loss.

I do hate cancer. It is the thief who robs us, everyday, of those we love.
